Raw and soulful, "Too Afraid to Love You" is one of the less immediate songs on the album (which explains why y'all criminally underrated it.) I always wondered what instrument drove the icy instrumental and apparently it's a harpsichord (not to be confused with Joanna, her instrument of choice): A live performance of the song, has almost 10 million views on youtube, at the least the GP is here for the song! Best bit: The harpsichord! And when Dan serves Mariah with that belt at the beginning Best lyrics: "I wish loneliness would leave me / But I think it's here to stay"

The penultimate song on Brothers is a cover of Jerry Butler's 1968 hit of the same name. Softer and more optimistic than other songs on the album, it's a sweet love song with Dan promising to always stand by his girl. The song was also used to close out the TV series Luther. Best bit: The vocals are nice on this one. Best lyrics: " would rather die / Than see you with somebody else "
