"Womanizer" only cost $.99 when it came out though, "3" will cost $1.29, which will hurt sales. Also, it would only take her 180k to reach #1, not 230k.
I'm expecting "3" to open closer to "Gimme More"'s opening numbers.

I also think it's not that possible. Prices are higher than last year, the digital charts show a decline in high sales, the hype is lower (though not that significantly) than "Womanizer", also there is no music video to boost sales even higher like "Womanizer" had in the middle of it's sales week. I'll be happy with 235k-240k. It'll be enough to catch a week at #1 and another long run in the Top 10.

I'm just dreaming anyway.

180k would require "3" needing 60m+ in airplay to be #1.
Also female debuts at #1:
Mariah Carey ("Fantasy", "One Sweet Day", "Honey"), Whitney Houston, Celine Dion ("My Heart Will Go On", "I'm Your Angel"), Lauryn Hill, Fantasia, and Carrie Underwood.
However if "3" happens to get the sales and debuts at #1, it'll be the first #1 debut in 3 years ( ) and she'll be the first artist to do it since Celine Dion technically since all the ones from 2003-2006 were American Idol and it was trend for them to debut.

Isn't Michael Jackson the only artist the debut at number one on the hot 100.

Of course you don't.
'3' is definitely not selling 290k like Womanizer did. I would be very surprised if it sells less than 200k though.

Michael Jackson was the first artist to do so with "You Are Not Alone". Ironic enough, Mariah Carey would also do that a few weeks later with "Fantasy".

When Michael debuted at #1 it was seen as once in a lifetime and it happened a few short weeks later.

Yes, and here's another weird connection. Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" debuted at number one, breaking Mariah Carey's, who was the second artist in Billboard history to debut a number one, streak at number one with "We Belong Together," which holds the record with "I Gotta Feeling" as the longest running number one of the 2000-2009 decade with 16 weeks. However, "I Gotta Feeling's" run is consecutive, while "We Belong Together's" was broken up by Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven," which only spent one week at number one. The first four weeks of Mariah's reign was broken away from the following 12 by Carrie.
Taylor Hicks has also done it with his Idol coronation song, "Do I Make You Proud." Needless to say, it didn't stay on the chart for very long. The same for "Inside Your Heaven." Since then, no Idol coronation song has debuted at number one. In fact, only one Idol coronation song has debuted in the top ten since "Do I Make You Proud," and that's David Cook's "The Time of My Life," which debuted at number three. Both "This Is My Now" and "No Boundaries" debuted in the top 15, but missed the top ten. "I Believe," by Fantasia, also debuted at number. Ruben Studdard's "Flying Without Wings" debuted at number two, the same as Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This," however Kelly's rose to number one the following week, making it the only Idol coronation song to move up the week after its initial release. "A Moment Like This" is also the most successful Idol coronation song, with it also being the only one to spend two weeks at number one on the Hot 100. The second biggest is of course "The Time of My Life" by David Cook. Oddly enough, Jordin Sparks' "This Is My Now," is the lowest peaking Idol coronation song, debuting and peaking at number 15, while Jordin is deemed as one of the top ten selling alumni from Idol, with both world wide albums and singles combined. (The first, of course, being Clarkson.)
LOL, I know nobody asked about the coronation songs, but I was on a roll.

Yes, in fact those record were broken only a few months between each other. "Womanizer" broke the record in October 2008, only to be broken in January 2009 by "My Life Would Suck Without You." It's only a matter of time before the 100-1 jump happens.

Yes. Here's another freaky connection, Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" debuted at #1, breaking Mariah Carey's streak at #1 with "We Belong Together." The first four weeks of WBT's reign at number one was cut off by Carrie.

First off, BEP and Mariah have 14 weeks at #1. Secondly, you seem to be overreacting with the writing.

People keep forgetting that Britney broke T.I's record, which was broken less than 2 weeks earlier, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Yeah, "Whatever You Like" broke the record that "Makes Me Wonder" had for about a year. Then T.I. broke his own record with "Live Your Life". The very next week, "Womanizer" broke the record and "My Life Would Suck Without You" would break it about two months later. Its had it since then.

Woops. You're right. My bad. 16 is the record overall, right? Maybe that's why I got confused.
