We start our plot with our distressed woman receiving the cold shoulder from her man. This song showcases how one man isn't being 100% with his feelings towards our female (like a total ****ing Gemini). The woman in this song is basically saying "I'm tired of waiting for you to come through, someone else is checking me out and if you don't hurry I'm going to bounce and snatch him." I also picked this song because the singer expresses deeply from her heart and soul what she is looking for in a man. Those qualities are perfectly suited for a (Black) Queen. Well, it looks like our man in this story finally got the clue and decided to snatch ha up and give her the d. I chose this song because it's about a man (so it's the man's perspective) wanting to show his love to his women. He doesn't want to play any games and wants her to know: girl it's only you, have it your way. C'mon Kitt and snatch that man and getting him to show your love for you. You did it sis! Welp, the dick was so good/ whatever he did got homegirl sanging a smooth R&B joint. Homegirl is in Cloud 9. She was originally worried about her man and he finally posted up and everything is great. This song is one of those songs you sing to your soulmate; you lay and dream about this man and will do anything to show how much you truly love him. Even got you singing some corny ******** like walking through the desert heat and swimming forever in the deepest sea. The couple has to be in a good space...but wait a minute, will it last? Things aren't the same. Her man is not giving her the same love and affection as before. The reasoning behind this song is basically what I mentioned before. The song describes the women feeling like she's living with a ghost, how she doesn't feel anything when they touch, and she's only having one-way conversations with herself when she's trying to talk to her man. She feels as though she's doing something wrong, and he is giving her the cold shoulder. She just wants him to come home.. Damn, hopefully they'll be able to work things out.. Well the bitch died. (Still waiting on the autopsy results). Unfortunately the woman died while the couple were having issues. The man is now regretting that her gave her the cold shoulder, was acting weird around her, and wasn't forward with his true feelings. This last song was chosen because it expresses how one was not able to show/tell their loved one all the wanted to say before they passed; it expresses how the man took their presence for granted.
Sorry I never told you,
All I wanted to say

Don't worry when I fight with you, worry when I stop because it means there's nothing left for us to fight for. Anonymous
Editor's Note: Heartbreak (EP) perfectly encapsulates the stages of a damaged, one-sided relationship that ends in agony for one, and quasi relief for the other. Oftentimes, difficulty arises because of the fear of being honest and transparent. Lovers blame each other for who's at fault, and a breaking point comes along. Sadly, relationships can end very quickly because of it. This EP consists of five chapters of hit songs that deal with the aforementioned - pressure, compromise?, barriers, truth, and aftermath.
Writers: Usher, The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Kuk Harrell Producers: The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart
Originally appears on Here I Stand (2008)
Moving Mountains, lyrically, describes the mental and emotional struggles that one must encounter while trying to make a relationship work. Physically, moving mountains is impossible, but when you're putting it into a figurative sense, the protagonist wants to believe that he or she can achieve that. "But I keep climbing and hoping things will change, then the sky turns gray and the water from the rain washes progress away..." - we hope that things will work out, but something seems to set us back from moving forward. The question is - how much longer is the lover willing to endure? Is he willing to try to make a compromise?
Chapter 2: Compromise?
Aaliyah f/ Timbaland, We Need A Resolution (4:03) Writers: Tim Mosley, Stephen Garrett Producers: Timbaland
Originally appears on Aaliyah (2001)
We Need A Resolution sees the other half of the relationship trying to work things out, but the question begs who is to blame for the relationship problems, as the chorus speaks "Am I supposed to change? Are you supposed to change?" As it seems that someone may be holding back their problems and not being honest, the other half tries to "force" their partner to come forth and put their feelings on the table ("Speak your heart, don't bite your tongue..it's official, you've got issues, I've got issues..."). Toward the end of the song, it's clear that resolving isn't really something that's an option at the moment ("Is it gonna be who blames who? ... I think I'm gonna get me a drink, I'll call you tomorrow..."). Maybe he's ready to make that resolution, or is he still feeling an emotional disconnect?
Chapter 3: Barriers
Diddy f/ Keyshia Cole, Last Night (4:16) Writers: Sean Combs, Keyshia Cole, Jack Knight, Mario Winans, Shannon "Slam" Lawrence Producers: Mario Winans, Sean Combs
Originally appears on Press Play (2006) and Just Like You (2007)
Last Night sees the man trying to get through his emotional barrier and reaching out to his significant other, but it is clear that he doesn't want to break it, exclaiming "I tried to call, but my pride wouldn't let me dial." There's something it seems that he wants to tell her, but he continues to hold back what he's really feeling ("The way I feel, I wanna curl up like a child.") The female wants to desperately make things work and makes it painfully clear that she needs him. "I need you, and you need me, this is so plain to see. And I will never let you go, and I will always love you.". Since there is still a clear emotional disconnect on his end, there really isn't much more for him to say, for now at least.
Chapter 4: Truth
Chris Brown, Say Goodbye (4:54) Writers: Bryan-Michael Cox, Kendrick "WyldCard" Dean, Adonis Shropshire Producers: Bryan-Michael Cox
Originally appears on Chris Brown (2005)
Say Goodbye becomes that moment that no one wants to hear in a relationship, but it's sometimes for the best. He finally comes clean and explains that the relationship has run its course. "I gotta lot a say so I guess I'll start by saying that I love but you know this thing ain't been no walk in the park for us ... 'cuz I really don't feel the way I once felt about you." - these are very painful words to hear, especially when you think you've done everything right on your end. You've invested months (maybe even years) into this relationship, and now you must come with the reality that your other half is no longer your other half. "I just can't do it, and sometimes it makes me wanna cry." - he feels deeply sorry as he shows his emotional side, but the damage has already been done to his now ex-partner. Moving on is the next step.
Chapter 5: Aftermath
Alicia Keys, Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (4:09) Writers: Jeff Bhasker, Alicia Keys, Patrick "Plan Pat" Reynolds Producers: Jeff Bhasker, Alicia Keys
Originally appears on The Element of Freedom (2009)
Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart is now the tale of the dumped lover, Although she realizes that they're no longer together, she will never forget how much she valued his companionship. "Have you ever tried sleeping with a broken heart? Well, you can try sleeping in my bed." - clearly, she's still a bit saddened of the loss, referring to herself as the "broken heart" following the breakup. "So tonight, I'm gonna find a way to make it without you .. I'm gonna hold to the times we had tonight." - although a painful revelation, she becomes determined to press forward. Throughout the track, you can hear the whispering cries as she reflects on her past, but the first step in seperating from the love of your life is grief.

PLOT/GENRE: Last Monday, October 26, 2015, an earthquake (7.5 on the Richter scale) killed over 360 people and left many others homeless in Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. This news hit me hard because my family and I were victims of Hurricane Wilma in 2005, so I know how heartbroken, scared, and defeated the victims must feel. During that time, music is what kept me going. Thanks to Michael, Whitney and many other artists, I remained optimistic and learned the importance of giving back and helping others.
For this challenge I decided to focus on a topic that is rarely acknowledge by mainstream artists in today's generation of music; awareness, and uplifting society. In the early 90's, artists would use their voice as a platform and speak to the masses on social and political issues. They would uplift nations, encourage us to never give up, but most importantly, they raised awareness and brought change to the world.
R&B is my favorite genre, thus my username URBAN(_fan), and it's what my EP: We Are One consists of. These songs will uplift you and fill you with hope, help you see that change begins within yourself, and encourage you to give back. When purchased, all proceeds go to the victims of this devastating event to help rebuild their homes, provide food, water and clothes. Always remember that no matter what goes on in one part of the the world, we're all human...We Are One.
Hope you enjoy my selection.
There can be miracles, when you believe..though hope is frail, it's hard to kill...

When You Believe
It's hard to remain hopeful when everything and everyone around you is in chaos. The first track on my EP is an inspirational ballad that will plant a seed of hope within our hearts. It will encourage us to hold on to what we have, and cherish the things and people we love the most. If we believe in ourselves, we can achieve anything.
R. Kelly
I Believe I Can Fly
Within chaos, there's always a moment of peace and tranquility; similar to the eye of a hurricane. The second track on my EP takes you to that place. It's an uplifting song that encourages everyone to dream big and see the brighter side of things no matter how dull they might seem. It will lift our spirits and help us find the fighter that lives within ourselves.
If I can see it...then I can do it...if just believe it, there's nothing to it...
Never give up, never give in...never let a rain of doubt slip in...
Brian McKnight
Win
Once we find the the strength to move forward, we must slowly face our fears and overcome adversity. The third track in my EP is an empowering ballad that encourages perseverance. Things might get hard, but we have the strength to overcome any obstacle that's placed in our way.
Michael Jackson
Man In The Mirror
Overcoming adversity is not easy, but from personal experience, it fills you with strength and inspiration. The fourth track on my EP is a song that helped me come to terms with my reality and I'm sure it will do the same for others. In order to inspire people, one must take their personal experiences and strive for change. Before helping others, help yourself and become the strength they'll need to build themselves back up.
If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.
When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all...but if you just believe there's no way we can fall...

We Are The World
No matter where you're from, your race, orientation, beliefs, we are all the same. The closing track on my EP serves as a reminder that we all fight the same battle. Everyday people die, every day someone mourns over the loss of a loved one, everyday is a battle. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but no matter the outcome we must have faith in one another. We all live in the same world, we are one.
One man. A married man, with a son he didn’t wait to meet. One man. A single shot, with a future he didn’t wait to see. The blast woke up his wife, and she performed CPR until the paramedics arrived. She knew there was no chance of survival, but she did it anyway. He was hurting, more than anyone could have known. But when he left, that hurt didn’t leave with him. It stayed with us, the living.
Forgive, sounds good // Forget, I'm not sure I could
The hurt stayed with his best friend. He was sad at first, but, after the funeral, he started feeling angry. Watching the dead man’s wife struggle to raise a child on her own, the son the dead man had abandoned. How could he? How did he think he had nobody to talk to? Even if it was some therapist or something, he should’ve said something to someone. He had no one to blame but himself. His best friend felt betrayed, and he couldn’t decide if that sense of betrayal was justified or not.
The breath from your own lips // The touch of fingertips
The hurt stayed with his mother. She buried her child before she turned 60. As she watched him being lowered into the ground, she wondered if, somewhere, he missed life. Did he miss touch? What about sunlight, did he have sunlight where he was? In this moment she thought back to when he was a child and she would ground him, saying “See what you lost with your actions?”. This time he had really lost it all. She shook her head and tried to forget that memory, but she couldn’t.
And you chase me like a shadow // And you haunt me like a ghost
The hurt stayed with his wife. For the first few weeks, she prayed for God to change things, to take her away and give her son back his father. Sometimes, in the mornings, she would hear the front door unlock as if he was still alive, going out for his morning run. She moved to a new house, but the memories followed. At the grocery store, or in traffic, she would see a green Volvo and force herself to look away from whatever stranger was behind the wheel. She missed him, really. But she wished she could stop seeing his face everywhere.
Every arrow that I aim is true // But I miss you
The hurt was always with his son. The boy who bears his name. His mother provided everything she could, and he knew how lucky he was to have her. Sometimes he wondered about his father, the man he knew only from pictures. What was he like? Was he funny? How did he dress? How did he smell? There was nothing to go off of. The boy will go on to live a very happy life full of love and a family of his own. But no matter what he does, what he accomplishes, he will always wonder. In his happiest moments, he will find himself missing this man he never met.
That’s because the man’s hurt didn’t leave with him. It stayed with us, the living. The hurt won’t die, no matter how hard you try to kill it. Like running a finger over a scar, it only exists to remind you why it's there. It can be hell, but eventually we learn to live with it. We learn to use it to our advantage. We learn to never let anyone forget how important they are to us.

This is my story. I'm sorry that I did not choose songs in English, but once you've read the story, I hope you'll understand why. I also believe that the music and atmosphere of these songs is strong enough to convey my feelings, regardless of language.
Mark Forster - Au Revoir (ft. Sido) Every day is the same, swimming laps in my pond
I just want to get out of here
The story starts in Germany. I was fed up with my life because it wasn't going anywhere - I was stuck in a small town, spending every day doing the same things, with the same people. Everything was all too familiar yet I still felt I didn't fit in. I just knew that wasn't the life I was supposed to live, this wasn't me; I needed something exciting, to live in a place where I could be free and do whatever I wanted. So I moved to London.
Mia. - Tanz der Moleküle I'm here because that's where I belong
Head over heels in love
I arrived in London and I immediately fell in love with the place. Everything was amazing and overwhelming, there was so much to do and see, nothing seemed impossible anymore. I had never felt so comfortable anywhere, it was like I was just meant to be there. I was completely euphoric and enjoyed my life to the fullest, not thinking about consequences, because I just wanted to do all the things I had missed out on before in my old life.
Gloria - Neu Beginnen You can scream, you can cry
But in the end, when you can't walk anymore, would you trade it in?
What would you take instead?
2 years later, and the excitement has worn off. The daily 2 hour commute to work is wearing me out, I still can't afford to rent my own place but pay over half my salary to rent a small room in a shared apartment. All the people and big crowds in the city stress me out, and most of the time I feel to tired to go out at night. Of course it's not all bad - I've still got a good job and I still love the vibe of the city and its vast cultural offer. But if I could start over, would I do it? And would I be willing to give up everything I've achieved for it?
Juli - Geile Zeit I know it was an awesome time, and I'm sorry
But it's over
I've made my decision - I'm leaving. Looking back on my time here, these were the best two years of my life and I don't regret anything at all. I had so many great experiences that changed me forever and I learnt so much, but now it's time to move on. It doesn't feel right anymore to be here, I tried my best to fight against it but now I can't fight anymore. I actually miss the comfort of my home, my family, and the slower life back at home. I'll always love London, but I don't want to live here.
Marteria - Mein Rostock I head off to find my luck, but your light draws me back in
My hometown
So the story ends back in Germany - with an ode to my hometown. Being away for two years has put things into perspective; sure, it's not as exciting as London, it's not cool or fancy. But it's genuine, warm and most importantly, it's my home, the place that raised me and made me who I am today. I've gone out into the world and seen a completely different country and place, and now I can finally appreciate my hometown for what it is, and no longer have to scorn it for all the things it's not. There'll always be London for that.
Throughout the late 1800's and early 1920's millions of European immigrants entered the U.S. via New York; they gazed upon the Statue of Liberty, as a welcoming sign, which represented the land of their dreams. The Statue has emerged as the defining symbol of hope to various generations of immigrants. Fast-forward, to the present, the current generation of immigrants are deriving from Latin America, and are being met with hate and bigotry. My parents and brothers are part of this new generation. Not many people are willing to leave their possessions, language, culture, family and take a dangerous journey to a foreign country. My parents, and especially my mother, are the bravest people I know. They showed me what the word fearless actually means. This EP, more than anything, is an ode the hope and resilience they’ve had throughout my childhood. They came to work and find their own piece, however small, of the American Dream; they worked long hours and various jobs for little pay, but yet my brothers and I had all we needed. Regardless of the hate speech spewed by politicians, the stares as children translate for their mothers, or the various employers that take advantage of immigrants, they, we, won’t falter; our hope will continue to move us forward. Lastly, I end the EP with a song dedicated to my mother. I can’t comprehend the amount, or level, of sacrifices you did for me, but I will love you, unconditionally, and will continue to be grateful for everything you have done. I will make you proud. – Angel
f(x) - Airplane
The only good artist / group signed to SM aside from BoA, f(x) collected wigs left and right with their iconic album Pink Tape, and this standout track snatched every follicle out of my head. Now let's all pretend the snoozefest of an album that is 4 Walls doesn't exist.
SlayNE1 - Don't Stop The Music
Perched alone on the top tier of girl groups is 2NE1, global music icons and trendsetters. Since 2009 they've been showing the lessors how it's done, churning out smash after smash. Don't Stop The Music is a tru #BOP, which is something a certain group of 8 robots is incapable of producing.
Wa$$up - Nom Nom Nom
This group of innovators brought twerking to K-Pop in 2013 and have released iconic anthems since then. Each member has a distinct style and are capable of doing choreo for adults, unlike a certain large numbered group who can only move like Barbie dolls with rusty joints.
Hello Venus - Wiggle Wiggle
Queens of sex appeal, Hello Venus made every straight male and Amber from f(x) lesbian across the world drool at their screens when they released Wiggle Wiggle. Serving talent, body, and BOPS, this is where literally every group in Korea excels aside from a certain group that bullied their only good member out last year.
EXID - Ah Yeah
EXID burst onto the scene gaining relevance with their magnum opus Ah Yeah earlier in the year and proved that they're the full package. Singing, dancing, rapping, they have it all. Proving that choreo is more than flailing your arms and runway walking across the stage while lipsyncing, they're showing a certain untalented group of flop clones how it's done.
This is my EP I hope y'all like it xoxoxoxoxoxoxox <3<3<3<3<3
