For one, Kesha's claims are difficult to substantiate. I think some mainstream media outlets are hesitant to delve into in-depth coverage of this case given the somewhat dubious accusations at hand. There's a sense that the suit serves Kesha's business interests, and that the alleged, potentially career-ending, abuses are just a means to a commercially and artistically beneficial end. And then there's the aspect of Kesha's "sleazy and ****ty" public persona, which certainly plays into the narrative and skews the public's sympathy.
It's a lot easier for most people to sympathize with innocent children who were almost certainly taken advantage of by a creepy, old, egomaniacal, musical genius (Jackson), who is also notable for being a really ****ing weird individual, than it is for them to rally behind a "wild woman" who was possibly taken advantage of by a creepy, old (but low-key sexy), egomaniacal, musical genius (Gottwald), who is only notable behind the scenes.

n; My friends are very real, unlike Ke$ha's who were all silent and stood by as Ke$ha was beaten, raped and abused (allegedly). Now, as her career withers away, they are still silent and are watching her slowly (or quickly, rather) fade away.
