Christina always came off as an unlikeable twat, so I'm glad that she never had a chance for a comeback. To develop such an attitude you need to at least do something noteworthy for the music
It's weird how Britney suffered a very public nervous breakdown but never mined it for her music. Sex doll --> BREAKDOWN --> Sex doll.
Where is her Girl On The Verge... type album?
Has she ever even acknowledged her breakdown? That can't be healthy.
Britney Spears is the type of person that doesn't want people to feel sorry for her. She's very tough/proud in that way. She's not like a Demi Lovato or a Lady Gaga that take ever opportunity to mention how they were bullied and had eating disorders to inspire sympathy from the general public (sympathy that they never get, because they're both so unlikable and fake).
Bionic had all the collaborators she wanted though and amazing promo spots, she didn't appear to have damaged any vital connections, it's all business at the end of the day and if people thought there was money to be made they'd overlook her rudeness.
What killed her was her ego, thinking she was big enough to wait another 4 years after BtB, insult an up and coming artist, and smash with tired bland music.

...Vin
Demi is the reason I brought it up.
"Her ability to use and not hide her personal story in her music and in her own mission is inspiring. She has a passion and drive to empower other girls and women that is remarkable. She’s a true force in the industry and a ‘rule breaker’ who has inspired millions." http://www.billboard.com/articles/ev...women-in-music
At least J. gLObal was a bitch towards irrelevant people who didn't matter. Xtinct really thought she could hold her own against Britney, Madonna, and Mariah at the same time, pfff, please.
Xtuna has the same problem as Shakira, waiting too long between eras, but Shakira has her inexplicable everlasting popularity in the third world to keep her afloat
4 years between albums is always way too long to wait (unless you're Adele). Avril and Xtinct are classic examples of an artist destroyed by waiting too long in between albums
