Anyone here loving the episode as much as I do? As I was watching it I tried to put myself in John's shoes and I was like: 'This is what horror means to me. If I was in that situation I'd probably just die'...I love how Hotel actually captures different concepts of horror beyond the late 00s definition of horror as something that must make you jump otherwise it's not considedred scary. The psychological game in this season is spot on and while there were some flaws here and there the overall atmosphere was one I particularly enjoyed. And oh, Lily was on fire...At certain points you could easily say 'Oh wow, this really is Aileen!'..Loved it!

This was def the worst episode. Not really feeling the mix of real life serial killers with the great fictional story this season has got so far. It sort of takes away from it. And I expected the dinner to be much more epic than it turned out to be. I thought it was going to be AN EVENT, but it was really more like cheap filler.

Judging from the next episode previews things pick up again.

Do you all not remember the pics of The Countess looking pregnant on the set of the Murder House?

To me, it's obvious that she lost her child/possibly received one of Dr. Montgomery's botched abortions years ago. And I believe THAT'S why she was so emotional and drawn to Alex, because they share the loss of a child and she saw herself in Alex for that reason. The fact that the child Alex lost was one that The Countess stole brought out the humanity in The Countess' character, hence the crying and all that jazz.

Mare Winningham - Emmy worthy!

Lily Rabe totally nailing the character and mannerisms of Aileen Wuornos. Completely up on par with Charlize Theron's impersonation.

The serial killers in general left a big impression. I can't decide who did a better job on Jeffrey Dahmer. Seth Gabel was alright, but Jeremy Renner's portrayal in the film 'Dahmer' was also convincing. Therefore they are equally good actors I assume.

Wes Bentley looked absolutely handsome in his smoking. The fight scene with Aileen was amazing.

Sally as cute as ever. Liz too.

Gaga wasn't quite as impressive as on the last 2 episodes. Her acting felt like episode 1 again. I hope she convinces me in the next episodes again.

Holden getting a taste of the dog made me smile. Alex now turning into a vampiress. Who would have thought? What kind of crazed plot twist.

The lack of Angela (!!!) - she MUST appear for the rest of Hotel. Even Finn Wittrock has more screentime for 3 episodes+ and he's not even in the main credits.

Donovan, Iris, Will Drake,... even without them the episode had me perched. Still I wonder how Iris' stability is after Donovan gave her his blood.

Devil's Night episode was good and if it turns out that the dinner was done as a hint of John being the TCK then it would be great but they can't afford any filler episodes in the season. 9 episodes to go, more focus on central plots, please.

She was in a state of utter shock and was quickly discovering that something abnormal/supernatural was occurring with her son. **** was going alllll the way to the left. I don't think she was in a position to be making rational thoughts or decisions.

She felt emotional because she was relating the undying love Alex has for Holden with the undying love she had for someone she lost.

Then instead of calling the police or something she immediately decides to become a vampire to stay with him.. like I thought the Harmons were dumb in season 1 for staying in that house but this is whole new levels

They're clearly starting to go over the top with this season & it's starting to ruin it for me.

Tbh, I was hoping that the only super natural thing this season was going to be Gaga as a vampire. It would have made it much better if everything else was just ****ed up humans killing ****, and her pulling strings behind the scenes as a super natural being.

It's so weird how dramatic of a difference there is with gaga's acting from episode to episode. Like she seemed stiff in this episode, and in episode 1. It almost seems like these two episodes were filmed on the same day? Or at least towards the beginning of the shoot. However in episode 2, and from the looks of the preview, 5 she delivered her lines smoothly and naturally, and it really really works. Episode 3 was kinda in the middle. Maybe 1 & 4 were some of her first episodes shot, 3 she was kinda getting into the groove of things, and by the time they shot episodes 2 and 5 she was used to it and comfortable/confident in her character? Sucks that they had to film out of sequence like this tho. It's annoying how her acting will go from believable to stiff on an episode to episode basis lol
