Why does Ryan realize that unless you have Freak Show-level plot, there is no excuse to have a filler episode in a season that only runs 13 episodes?

This episode is the closest to filler that we're getting. Alex/Countess moved the plot on, and while the Devil's Night dinner was amazing (and hinted at something important), overall, it didn't add much to the plot.

The central plot? There probably isn't one.

There's numerous plot lines though.

Also my theory is that the Countess cried when turning Alex because she knows that when she's gone, only Alex will be able to have the undying love for children like she has, in a weird, twisted way.

I didn't think this episode was as good as the others this season. I'm glad it didn't run as long as it could have though. Lily as Aileen was a bright spot, but the Devil's Night dinner didn't feel as epic as it sounded on the outset. They spent so much time on it whereas the crucial scenes of Alex becoming a vampire felt rushed.

The preview for next weeks ep looks good though.

She's missed 3 so far. She can possibly make the rest and then get to 10.
