Thinking Out Loud did incredibly well in the charts, but I think it's mainly old people that listen to it.

You nailed it 100% those two don't have the social media power/influence Drake has. Everyone was posting about this like I said until Adele released Hello.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about music culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in television where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in music culture, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the music public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Apple Music for neither time period, nor will they purchase any of Apple's devices. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Apple has alienated an entire market with this move.
Apple, publicly apologize and cancel Apple Music or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Poor Drake he would have gotten that #1 if he put the video on Vevo and didn't make it a Apple exclusive

Meh. The song is still as popular as it is. It not going #1 doesn't change that much.

I don't know about this.

It was all over the internet. DayTime talk shows, late night talk shows and countless other media were discussing it. It was indeed a pop culture event.

I don't watch any daytime talk shows or late night talk shows.
And someone mentioned Vine. I don't do Vine.

It does, especially when a Hot 100 #1 is a huge achievement as an artist. Aubrey Graham let everyone know he wanted this badly.

But why didn't Apple report the streams? Why do they have a streaming music and video service if they aren't going to benefit the artists in cases like this? Like, I love The Weeknd with all my heart, but this just seems unfair and just plain stupid, I just don't get it
|
These companies FLEW to streaming like flies on **** and yet they barely take measures to contribute to the economy.
Realistically this is all Apple's fault. Drake is the rightful owner of that #1 for Apple's complacency ruined it.
