I think it's just because we're so many seasons in and there's no penalty for playing in a previous season (some games don't let Top 3 finalists try again, for example). As it stands about half of the original sign-ups were new players. So it's not necessarily less new blood, but more returning players are trying again.

I've heard or know the vibe of the majority of the albums listed anyway. But if someone's song is based on an album I haven't heard much of, I'll definitely give a few tracks a listen and try to see if it fits in.

I know you already received an answer on this, but slant rhymes aren't forced rhymes, they're actually the opposite a majority of the time and a good answer to avoiding forced rhymes.
