kind of. she said it's inspired by multiple people in her life from the past, and not necessarily a romantic relationship--just relationships in general: family, friends, and probably a boyfriend or two. i think she said it's a general idea of getting older and it becoming more difficult to stay in touch with people
Someone said earlier in the thread that she's speaking to her younger self which I also really like. "Hello from the outside/other side" is like saying she's made it through whatever she was going through and can look at it with the benefit of hindsight
