And now we hear from the resident Beyonce hater(?) and winner of cycle 8, Edge!
So, your first time not judging top member, I have to say for me you were missed, how did it feel watching (I hope) from the sidelines as opposed to be in the action?
Aw, thank you. But I must say, it was nice spectating instead of stressing out over comments and deciding on who gets to move on each week.
You gave a very passionate speech for your testimonial on Bomb, were you disappointed in his loss?
Not at all. I'm very proud of how far A Bomb has come along and his Top 3 placement. Considering all the "polarizing this, polarizing that" talk, even achieving Top 3 seemed like a herculean task so I did my best to counteract all the nay-sayers. I am very proud that my testimony could help him to get to Top 3, granted,
because of my testimony, he almost didn't make Top 3. It's always discouraging to see how people treat others in certain ways just cuz they have an issue (whatever it may be) with someone associated to that person. Who A Bomb associates with
does not define him. But more importantly, that sort of factor should never get in the way of judging. A concept that I always held true to while as a judge.
Sidenote 1: Supaspaz, I'm glad Satellites still means so much to you but it was very clear that his testimony was less than desirable. Zero time and thought was used and there was more resentment against Matty of his own loss during his season than praise for Superpower. He may be an ATRL legend but he is a non-factor in the ANTM realm.
Sidenote 2: Just to clear the air, JakeKills, you've mentioned that I might have shaded you in my comments for your Receipts challenge. Of course I did. When do I not? But I ranked you first (maybe second) with a near perfect score.
If you were a contestant in the current season of top member, how do you think you would do as compared to your season? Is there anything different you noticed?
It depends on so many factors but in this moment in time, I probably wouldn't have fared very well in this season. For starters, my season was the last season where formatting was a non-factor. You had the content + you make it neat = great entry. Now people make sure to stress that content is more important but with entries like Era's, it's hard not to judge the physical beauty of the entries. His formatting entry that he created for Qatari in Les ATRLers was just stunning.

I am no master at formatting and mastering the collapse tag that season was a big feat for me.
Also, during my season, none of us really had close relations with any of the judges (maybe boyonce and Katie?). I had Matty and orange warning my ass left and right before I signed up. If anything, they had a preconceived, negative connotation of who I was. It was up to me/us to get them to know me/us better and change their perspective. However, as the seasons progressed, it just seems to me that the closer you were with a judge, the better you seem to do throughout the competition. This season's judging panel was very solid but to the peanut gallery, there seems to have been heavy favoritism and bias throughout. Again, this is just what I've noticed from spectating, not set in stone.
But all in all, I'm cutthroat. I understand what it takes to be a winner and I would have not gone down without a fight.
Do you have any advice you can give to JakeKills and any future contestants?
Do you. You were deemed worthy for the crown by a panel of your peers so it's up to you to do with it as you will.
