Rihanna was doing dance pop in 2006 with SOS and 2007/8 with Don't Stop The Music, Push Up On Me and Disturbia, all before Gaga.

Rih did dancepop then ran back to hip hop because she didn't have the influence nor power to change the state of pop music, which Lady did.
