Host commentary - The most frustrating thing for me about some of the Madonna fans here is that y’all do the Immaculate 80s so damn wrong and then complain that we don’t “get” fun Madonna on HC or MDNA. This song is so cheesy and flawless. Deserved at least 10 spots higher than this.
Guest commentary Subomie - A bit whiny for me, but I kinda like the production on the chorus.
Alongoria13 - Filler AF
mrmikefern - One of the hidden gems of Madonna's entire Eighties discography. Her vocals are on point and the production is amazing. By far the only good LAV album cut abd it's even better than the first two singles.
Host commentary - This is a really stunning midtempo love song for Madonna. Her vocals are great on it and it has a gorgeous throwback feel to it. Godtime Hymns was only 11 tracks Madge. Surely this could have made the cut?
Guest commentary Lifeline - Hate should wait though. Why did this have to end up as a forgotten Gary Barlow second single in 1997 though? It's easily stronger of a melody than 'Please Stop' on Bedtime Stories and she sounds just so lovely on it.
Reinvention - A pretty, glittery sound.
Eeveelution - Not this being better than everything on the actual album.
We've been so busy shoveling the Rebel Heart demos out of the rate that the standard edition hasn't taken many hits. The next 2 tracks are gonna change that.
Host commentary - What the actual hell? This is the best non-single she has released since Confessions by far. From the demo leak this was one of my favorites and I will never understand the hate for it. Her voice isn’t strained and it is sexy and playful without her telling Kanye to drink her fluids or talking about just how raw her sugar is. It is just a light gorgeous song and the closest thing to innovative production on Rebel Heart.
Guest commentary Reinvention– her stripped back vocals, the light-hearted nature and sweet display of romance. It’s clever, and interesting.
Eeveelution - Again, not sure why the crypt keepers hate this one? Her vocals on RH range from bad to downright grating but I really enjoy the whispering thing she's doing here. Definitely the best thing she's done this decade.
Subomie - A quirky little number that gets too much ire. The lyrics are very obvious but very charming.
