The true problem is not a question of art but about integrity .
So as soon as Rihanna do something which can be meaningful artistic for you of most of all then no, it must have been edgy, can't be artistical but if it were any shadowed singer, it would have been crown hope/revelation of the year for the music industry.

Whether you like it or not, art is not just bunch of dated ass paintings and nude statutes

I could see this being art if it actually had significance to Rihanna and a real message behind it.. This obviously wasn't Rihanna's idea and she can't even read Braille.. That's why it comes off as phony.

If a blind artist did something like this then yeah I could see it. Or if they at least knew how to read Braille

I just want to say as a non Rihanna fan who likes maybe like 5 or 6 of her songs, this idea is really neat. However, it could go two ways. One way is like ARTPOP which has some good songs, with very poor execution for a majority of the album/era. The other way would be to have some good music, and to put lots of time and effort into the album with no over-producing/cringe-worthy moments. From an artistic point of view, I love how this stands for Rihanna basically saying the music is what should stand out(and it also give blind people a cool experience.) It is really neat that Rihanna cares enough to put effort to try something different with the album aesthetic itself... from a conceptual standpoint it's genius. The music just has to match it.

If you look at the cover art, the crown is covering the eyes and ears... the braille is a reference to that.
Now how that pertains to Rih has yet to be revealed. I does feel personal, though.
