This is interesting, especially since the version I sing in the shower is essentially a mash-up of the studio version with some of the traits of the live version (like I always do the live "prayed through the nii-iii-iii-IGHT!" if you know what I mean).

I would imagine everyone thinks she won't because of what happened last year, but it would be the perfect F.U to everyone if she did and totally slayed it.
I don't want her to perform this year tbh. 'Cus if she did mess up or didn't do it great in general, people would bash her all over again + she might actually ruin the song since she'll be 'tainting' it in a way honestly by putting all these bad performances in the public's head they'll remember instead.
& yeah, her performances make me too nervous / scared / give me literal anxiety these days.

I want her to do it again. She always comes through when she's under a lot of pressure. I think she wants to prove everyone wrong. And now that her voice is in pretty good condition judging by her Vegas stint, she will be a lot more confident too.
Is Mariah the reason that pop girls started doing Christmas albums? I can't think of a popular Christmas album by a female before Mariahs. Maybe Barbara but hers was in 1967 . Amy Grant too but who really remembers her .
I just listened to AIWFCIY, the Jimmy Fallon performance, and the acoustic version with the unedited vocals that came out last year. I'm sooo ready for Christmas
yess one could say... Mariah popularized the christmas album too. There aren't many classic christmas albums.. but in 1994 2 classics were released Kenny G's and Mariah's.
The biggest ever christmas albums on a global scale are Elvis' and Mariah's christmas albums.
