I couldn't be happier to have this member on the judging panel. This judge is new to Platinum Hit... in fact, this is their first ever tournament, playing or judging! They have a great appreciation for music and they know good lyricism when they see it. He's one of the nicest and most recognisable faces around the forum, and so far the nicest judge on the panel in terms of scoring!

Please give a warm welcome to Meowster, who will be this season's new judge. I thought Bloomers provided a really great new angle to judging last season given he wasn't a previous contestant or judge. In fact, Meowster knew nothing about the game before agreeing to sign on as judge, let alone read and ranked 53 entries before. For his first time I think he did an amazing job, and I have full confidence in his abilities.
Hello everyone, it was great to read all of your selections. Like some of you who are new to this, this is my first time doing something too. Hopefully my outside viewpoint can add something to the polling and I hope you all will enjoy my time here - I know I will be enjoying my time here. I'm glad you all met the criteria, otherwise I'd given you less than a five.
Welcome, Top 52! It feels a little odd saying that, but you've all deserved it. This is your chance to either prove that you're a frontrunner, step out from the middle of the pack or show you have what it takes to make a strong comeback and earn your place in this competition.
But keep it cute, I don't want to see any shade thrown around or subtweeting (LOL!) towards the contestants at the back. Everyone's earned their right to be here and this challenge will be the ultimate proof of that. Do you have what it takes to make it past...
CHALLENGE #2
THE TWITTER CHALLENGE
Let's get one thing clear; no, you don't have to submit your entries via Twitter. As I'm sure everyone knows, Twitter is known for its sometimes restrictive 140-character maximum tweet system. The same principle will apply to this challenge. Your task for this week is to write a full length song (of any theme), but you must not exceed 140 words! Please take extra notice that we're asking for a song that reads as a full song this time, not an intro or interlude.
Obviously 140 words isn't much to work with, so we're willing to help you out a little.
What's not in the word count?
∞ Titles are not counted... that includes song title, as well as any section titles like Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Outro etc. ∞ Repeated sections are not counted. If you want to have a direct repetition of your chorus, writing the title "(Chorus)" and then proceeding to the next section will not add any words to your word count. Don't abuse this and repeat every section of your song! ∞ Descriptions are not counted. If you choose to include an optional description that is fine, it won't be counted in the word count, but don't add more lyrics into the description just to bypass the character restrictions.
Everything else is included in the word count. You must include the final word count of your song in your entry. This will be counted as a description and it won't add words to your count. You can use this online word counter to help.
This is an older challenge that I'm bringing back, but I think it's a great way to demonstrate your ability to make a minimum amount of words pack a maximum amount of punch. This is a technical challenge, and so you're free to write about whatever you choose. Try to get as creative as possible with this one! If you can write a song without any repeated sections that still meets the restrictions, you might get a bonus point from me.
