What?
The premiere episode of Hotel was the second most viewed episode on FX ever, only behind Freak Show's premiere. The only way I see AHS getting cancelled if it's ratings plummet below 2 million consistently throughout the rest of the season. Even if that actually happens, they'll probably give the show another shot and release a six season to try to get viewers/ratings.
AHS, if I'm not mistaken, is FX's most watched show. They're not going to all of a sudden cancel it.
Just because the ratings SLIGHTLY decreased doesn't make it a flop in anyway at all - it's infact a success. Hotel was coming off a season which was panned by a lot of fans, the series lost its key star (Lange). Finally, idk if you've actually noticed but ratings in general are slowly declining because people aren't watching tv like they used too due to streaming, DVR recording, illegal downloading etc. On top of that, AHS is a cable show - viewers have to pay to access that channel making its potential audience reach significantly less than other national broadcast channels.
With all of that considered, the ratings for AHS: Hotel's first episode was impressive and a success
