Why do people deny Janet is a legend?

because of the Super Bowl incident I think. There's still people who treat her wrong, but she is an icon, classy and an artist, and they all stay pressed

if Janet was really a legend as some of her are overrating her, her music would be playing on classic TV channels and radios! She would make to some kind of Top 10 list.
I also can't at those same people now saying they "can't name one Madonna song" as if Like A Virgin, Holiday, La Isla Bonita, Like A Prayer, Vogue, Frozen, Music and Hung Up doesn't get played anywhere. And remember, those are all huge global smash hit songs from 3 different decades! Just go to most successful and aclaimed music artists, Madonna is the only female there with Elvis, Beatles, MJ, etc. etc. and no other female comes CLOSE to her. So don't try to compare Janet as being a legend to Madonna. That's like comparing Kelly Rowland to Mariah Carey

That was rude and uncalled for. Everyone does not know songs by Madonna. I couldn't name one before I joined ATRL and plenty of NFL players couldn't either when asked to sing their favorite Madonna song
OT: She's one of the biggest black female stars in the past 30 years, how can she not be a legend

Thank You. Aside from the old folks I don't think one person that I personally know would be able to name any of her songs. I also wasn't able to name one until about a year ago when I was looking at a Marilyn Monroe video on youtube and saw Material Girl.

Only on ATRL will people use ignorance as an acceptable excuse. Not in this day and age where you all frequently use Youtube, Itunes, and Spotify. Her discography includes some of the best albums of all time. And not you all being completely ignorant with avatars and signatures of artists who are her biggest fans  Only on ATRL.

Stop underestimating the ignorance of today's youth. They are NOT familiar with all those Madonna songs.

This. A few weeks ago, I was out with one of my friends and her 13 year old sister, who legit hadn't never heard of Madonna (no, not even Like A Virgin) before I played one of her songs.

Lies. Literally didn't know any songs by her off the top of my head before joining as well. Sure I knew of Madonna and that she was considered a legend.
But that's about it.
