The Weekend obviously wants to make The Hills one of the year's biggest hits, and attempt to block the challenge of his fellow Ontarian Drake. At least #1 next week will be well over 100k instead of just barely breaking six digits. I haven't updated my page for picking the Top Songs Of 2015 the last few weeks, but the Top 12 I thought was set might not be now.
Hills has been in the Top 25 since its release. The only question I have is I don't know if it'll reach 26 weeks by the end of November, which is kind of an important gauge for year end positioning. I don't have a calendar or BB in front of me, but I think Hills can get to 23 or 24 though.
And honestly, the remix effect I feel like I'm overrating. Yes it's gonna be high on iTunes today because two big artists with fanbases. However, the remixes are so terrible and extra. I don't see them lasting a week. Let alone long enough to give the song a 50% boost over what it's doing now, in the 2nd week of their release.
If the video comes next week I think he's fine.
