It means have a pattern with your number of syllables per line. It doesn't have to be perfect, but keep it pretty close to your pattern and the song will flow well.

If you can pull it off. A good example of what I mean, though, is JustLuke in season 6. His songs were kind of stale for a few rounds, not because he wrote badly, but because everything was so generic and simple without any imagery. He stepped up to the plate one round after I gave him some advice about imagery and blew me away and got a #2 song that round.

Be sure to include whether your song is an intro or an interlude in your entry. You must submit one or the other, not both!

I have no idea what intro/interlude means in this context..

Both GotSkill and I have posted intros we wrote a bit back, so maybe you could refer to those. You could also listen to intros from other albums, such as Lotus.

All that's being asked is you submit a short song, about 1-2 minutes when read aloud. But it must read as a complete work, not as an incomplete verse and chorus like in S6/S7. Here's some examples:

And when I say use metaphors, I don't mean you have to go Peacock/ET where the whole song is a metaphor. Just one or two can be really powerful. Like in S6 Element used a line like "stuck in a circle, gotta find a new angle" and literally every judge commented on it. It also raised the score of his song like 3 points for me. One line can make a huge difference.

Hmm I couldn't find your post but I saw the Lotus intro and I think I get it.
