If you're struggling to think of an intro/interlude, don't get too hung up on the terminology. All we're looking for is a short complete song. It doesn't have to be the first part of a story or include excerpts from other songs/news interviews etc. like you may have heard in other actual interludes. Keep in mind that this is a lyric writing competition and you will be only judged on the lyrics you write.
Christina's Lotus Intro is actually a fantastic example for this task. It is a bit longer than I'd like you aim for, but it's easy to see with some cutting down, that would be a good submission. It's short, it's simple, it reads as a complete work and it sets up the listener for the next song well.
