Billboard really rushed it TBQH. It's very sloppy. They were doing good with the track by track reviews. They didn't expect so many people to be interested apparently.

Because the album would've dragged if she did Promise of You, Lessons Learned, Black Eagle and Well Traveled in a row like that. 4 ballads in a row is poison. It actually works well the way it is. "Promise" has an ominous undertone to it and represents a shift in the album into a darker territory (Lessons Learned and Black Eagle). So the snippet serves as a perfect gateway into more serious topics.

She should have made After You Fall an interlude. It's the longest track on the album and easily the weakest sonically. I appreciate the sentiment, and objectively it's a beautiful track, but it's way too somber for a song that comes so early in the tracklist. Since All For You, she's really had a problem with song placement that drags down the momentum (20 Y.O. is kind of an exception, but only because that album is so short anyway).

Dream Maker/Euphoria is the only song I'm not totally sold on. I think I need to give it more listens.

I really like the first half of the album but the second half is kind of getting to me right now, it's very understated and I like the experimental feel some of the songs have. It just feels very emotional.

I love AFTER YOU FALL... The lyrics are very deep and it's very sad because that's how she felt after the superbowl and after MJ's death. But it's beautiful.
