Fendi DiAngelo
The Transformation:
The DiAngelo sisters, as I explained in my first ever entry behind my name, are four characters I created years ago. Ava, MarryAnn, Maddi and Evie were four super superficial girls that, while parodies of Paris Hilton (and now, Kardashian) socialite types, each had a unique strength to them that showed they were more than dumb white girls with a taste for designer and their parents' credit cards. Being able to share that with someone else-- my new sister-- means the world.
The name we wound up with is Fendi DiAngelo-- the last name, obviously, had to remain the same, and following me in my name after a designer name (and one the DiAngelo sisters likely would wear themselves), Fendi seemed more than perfect.
The Avi
It was likely a foregone conclusion that my transformation of thecptz to Fendi DiAngelo would include a multitude of Scream Queens references. And while I did that, I thought I could go a little deeper than giving a random Scream Queens avi. The character in this avi is Hester Ulrich, and for those who don't know, the scene in this avi was immediately after a makeover of her from a neck-brace-bound nerdette to a glamorous Chanel (one of Chanel Oberlin's minions). This couldn't be any more fitting for this situation.
The User Title
Quote:
| sᴜᴘᴇʀʙʟʏ x sᴜᴘᴇʀғɪᴄɪᴀʟ |
Fendi's new user title couldn't exemplify the DiAngelo brand any better. Superbly superficial. I suppose "ironically superficial" would be more fitting, but that in itself would be too meta. Small caps and the use of the x & the |'s to match my own show this girl fits right on in in my house.
Location
Quote:
KKThailand
Fendi lives in Thailand-- and while I originally had her location more similar to mine (Originally just "KKT" and later "Kappa House"; referencing the main setting of Scream Queens), I saw the perfect chance to create a great portmanteau to combine both elements of the DiAngelo house and Fendi's actual location.
The Font
Quote:
Wonderful! I feel beautiful!
One definite trait of mine is my use of post formatting-- my font follows me everywhere I go (except when I'm on mobile, but I cringe every time). It's a no-brainer that my drag sister Fendi would pick up one herself-- and while not identical to mine (Book Antiqua), hers (Georgia) is still regal and recognizable.
Not much of an explanation necessary, but I couldn't help but add Lorde to Fendi's signature and format it in a way similar to mine-- of course using her new signature font in stead of mine. We wouldn't be sisters if we weren't matching this way, would we?
The Lip Sync
Pink Martini - "Que Sera, Sera"
"Que Sera, Sera" is a classic song. It's one I've-- along with plenty of others, including our newly-debuted Fendi DiAngelo-- have loved. We found the meaning of the song intriguing to use regarding a makeover: The singer asks "What will I be?" to her mother, something we've all done at a time, and something thecptz even asked me before we began the makeover, and it was that moment that I realized this song would be perfect for us. I don't think the answer has ever been "a fierce-ass drag queen". While the song serves as a change of pace from a traditional DiAngelo song-- a shallow, upbeat braggadocio number-- it remains true to something the original DiAngelos would love, showing a rarely-seen, more vulnerable side. The song is dramatic and allows plenty of room for camp and theatricality expected from a drag performance. This specific version of the song was used for a specific reason (and not the fact that it was much higher quality than any Doris Day recording) in that it was used in a scene in Scream Queens, just moments before the makeover of Hester to Chanel #6 in Fendi's avi.
Welcome to the drag world, Fendi.

YOU ARE INVITED TO THE INDUCTION OF
MISS COMMITTA CRIME
INTO THE HAUS OF SCARLETT
These makeovers must include:
A drag name for your new sister
I chose the name COMMITTA CRIME because I think it fits into the risqué Carmen Scarlett aesthetic, plus I loved how the names were both similar and unique at the same time. The alliteration and the use of the double TT in each name looks so beautiful. I think Carmen and Committa would storm the world together and slay every other girl in the house.
I kind of see Carmen and Committa as sort of Spring Breakers-style girl thugs with a lot of guns and money from a whole range of different guys. The Haus of Scarlett is famous for taking risks in both drag and in life altogether. She’s my daughter and sister rolled into one.
A new avatar
We went with the matching Lana outfits because Del Rey is a huge part of Carmen’s persona (see Episode 1 ; the name choice) and you know what - my girl Committa is gonna have the whole Lana legacy passed down through the generations of Scarlett. Committa came up with the idea of the avatar's being an interaction with each other so I thought to keep to the Lana theme, it would be funny if I had Lana shooting the gun and she had the helicopter blowing up.
Signature and User Title
CARMEN: BUY HONEYMOON ON ITUNES Miss Boutique 2015
COMMITTA: BUY HONEYMOON ON GOOGLE PLAY Miss Budget Store 2015
I thought it would be an interesting idea to make Committa kind of a cheap low-rent version of me, so we went with a budget store aesthetic for the User title and Avi.
I chose the song “HARD” by SOPHIE because it perfectly represents everything about the Haus of Scarlett. Our Haus is a beautiful BDSM fantasy. This song is essentially the shopping list for our Haus. Platform shoes, rubber dolls, latex gloves - it’s everything a Scarlett girl wants. The Haus of Scarlett are most definitely material girls.
“HARD” would be such a fun song to perform because the production is so crazy and massive and it’s a great song for Committa’s personality to come through as a Scarlett. I think we could definitely have a fun Call & Response going on with the lines of the songs. We would be jumping all around the stage into the audience while the guys put the dollar bills into our latex fantasy outfits. We want to slay the audience HARD together.
The way “HARD” works as a double meaning in the song really comes through in our performance. This business is so hard, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with it. I am living for this performance, and I’m so happy to have my sister here with me. And now we can go HARD together.

THE PERFORMANCE
It’s no secret that Carrie Messiah is a mature queen. With almost 25 weeks in the industry, 18 #1s (on the Bubbling Under Drag Queen Hot Club Songs chart), and an alleged 5 octave range (6 octaves after tucking), she’s one of the few legends among us!
But the time has come to open up the House of Messiah and let in some new blood. I’m excited to announce that tonight, for the first time ever, Carrie will perform with her new protege, an up-and-coming queen who may not have the experience Carrie has, and doesn’t have any #1s yet, and has a rather limited 3.7 octave range, but who may soon be prepared to follow in her drag mother’s footsteps…. So please give a round of applause to Carrie Messiah...
...
and
...
her drag daughter...
Granday Adriana!!
Carrie and Granday come out on stage to FKA Twig’s “Two Weeks.” The song is a perfect choice for them; it’s the kind of music Granday loves and allows the crowd to see her in her element, but it also allows Carrie the opportunity to slow things down a bit and pose seductively across the stage, and Carrie lives for the drama dahling! As the two perform, they repeatedly attempt to stand in front of the other and steal the spotlight.
After the song’s first chorus, the music skips and Carrie and Granday lip-sync to a spoken word track:
Carrie: Two weeks! That’s about how long you’ll last in this industry if you keep getting in my way!
Granday: Two weeks! That’s about how long you have left to live old lady!
Carrie: *dramatic gasp* *slaps Granday* *but then looks off into the distance with a glum look on her face and performs a heart-rending soliloquy* Maybe she's right... I have a lot of life in me yet, but as the years slip by, my joints get a little bit stiffer, my wig gets a little bit grayer, my tuck gets a little bit saggier. Oh, how I wish I could take it back to the 90s!
Carrie and Granday suddenly turn and face each other, then Robyn’s “Time Machine” begins to play. Unlike the first half of the performance, the queens are in sync and do a sickening routine together, sharing the spotlight and thrilling the audience. It's another perfect song choice; it's relevant, upbeat, and both Carrie and Granday love Robyn. When they’re finished performing, they stand together and pull out their tips. Carrie snatches Granday, counts it, then gives her a noticeably smaller stack, then exits first. (Backstage, they split it evenly of course )
THE MAKEOVER
Vulnicura's new AVI allows him the chance to embrace his own drag persona while also paying homage to the queen, his drag mother.
His custom title is simple, but effective, and shows house solidarity:
ɢʀᴀɴᴅᴀʏ ᴀᴅʀɪᴀɴᴀ
With that custom title, we both simply have our drag names as our custom title, and the similar fonts links our names to show we're from the same house.
It's important to me that while my drag daughter show solidarity with me, BUT it's also important that she present her own unique style, tastes, etc. As long as I agree with them all. That's why I chose to do a minimal makeover for Vulnicura's signature. His custom signature therefore looks like this:
Quote:
ARIANA GRANDE
ST. VINCENT / BJÖRK / ROBYN
grimes / beach house / sky ferriera / lorde / charli xcx / gaga / florence / lana / fka twigs
Together, Carrie Messiah and Granday Adriana can accomplish what neither of them can achieve on their own: success. The connection is really perfect: both girls are amazing solo acts, but see real success when they use featured artists. In the House of Messiah, Carrie can teach Granday with the many years of experience behind her, while Granday can teach Messiah how to make the audience at your shows cold and rigid and how to turn America against you through unhygienic behavior. Together, they are unstoppable.

"Rose" is fierce, Southern, derives from a color and reflects PinkBox's username. LaPierre women are belles of the ball, and Rose's name fits perfectly in the House.
Like her name, Rose's new aesthetic fits in the House of LaPierre while showcasing her individuality.
Rose's diva avatar, song user title and artist Now Playing reflect mine; I change my set as different artists and songs represent where I am in life. Rose's new avatar and user title come from "Girl Gone Wild" by Madonna--one of her favorite songs. LaPierre women are capricious, but we're always in sync.
Rose's new signature is done similarly; altered to highlight her interests. The symbols on the sides match the content of the line and add splashes of color which distinguish it from my monochromatic signature. It lists her favorite drag queens, music artists and her favorite drag queen's most iconic line. LaPierre women keep family close, but we always show our personal style.

Raised among the magnolia trees of Louisiana, Scarlett LaPierre is ATRL's premiere cat burglar drag queen. Scarlett has been on ATRL's most wanted list for years, but her booking fee is too high for a forum that can't afford a decent server. Scarlett's feline sensory perception is infamous; she's always on the prowl for the nearest bicurious straight men. Scarlett travels the world with a love for adventure and trains her cousin Rose in the art of being fierce.
A close cousin of Scarlett, Rose LaPierre is a lusty ***** whose parents overfed her as a teenager to decrease her sex appeal. They failed. After Rose was arrested for being over the legal sickening limit, Scarlett busted her out of jail and they now travel the world as drag sisters in crime. In between heists, Rose enjoys knitting, bartending and performing burlesque shows with Scarlett. Rose is bootylicious and serves curves for days; men can’t take all of this Southern decadence.
Rose and I have chosen to perform “When You’re Good to Mama” from Chicago for our first sisterly lip sync. Rose serves fish and comedy in her drag and I serve glamour and theater in mine, but “When You’re Good to Mama” unites us as sultry Southern divas.
Burlesque performances are a trademark of the House of LaPierre, and Rose and I love the song’s sexuality. We can make our performances over-the-top in our own ways without stealing the spotlight from each other. The camp and comedy of the innuendos play to Rose’s performance strengths, and the theatricality and production of the number play to mine. Together, we can deliver a varied yet cohesive lip sync that represents the House of LaPierre.
We can have fun while we’re entertaining, which I think is most important in our first sisterly lip sync. We can dance, flirt, tease, please and interact with the audience together. We can be sisters in drag and crime and let our personalities shine while the audience gets their lives.
In the spirit of the challenge, the House of LaPierre has decided to give all of ATRL a makeover! Today, many in the queer community have lost touch with queer history and culture. Rose and I have posted The ATRL Drag Dictionary to educate members on parts of drag culture. Early reception has been positive!

DRAG NAME
My drag name comes from the two gymnasts Koko Tsurumi and Seda Tutkhalyan. What a better name for my first drag daughter than to switch the names of the two gymnasts that were my inspiration. That is how Hurem became Miss Seda Tsunami
This name has an alliteration of the 'S' sound, similar to how Koko Khalyan has an alliteration fo the 'K' sound. It also is a bit altered from the original gymnasts name, just like mine was.
AVATAR
For the avatars, I created two Lady Gaga gifs for Miss Seda. Gaga is Miss Seda's favorite artist and since I am known for very colorful avatars, I had to make sure these Gaga avatars were colorful as well. I currently have a rotating avi, so of course Miss Seda's is rotating as well.
SIGNATURE
I used inspiration from the colors of my two avatars for the colors of my signature. It features my username, a link to my thread for Ellie's album Delirium, five lines of albums I stan for, and then my social media links. I created Miss Seda's signature in the same fashion. The colors are from the colors of the two avatars, and it features Hurem's original username, a quote from the latest Lady Gaga song, five lines of artists Miss Seda stans for, and the social media links.

PERFORMANCE
For our performance, we chose this popular mashup of Ace of Base's "Don't Turn Around" and Lady Gaga's "Alejandro." This song perfectly fits my favorite music style of 90s dance, while accommodating Hurem's favorite singer. Miss Seda would be performing the Alejandro verses, I would perform the Don't Turn Around verses, and we would both perform the choruses to each song together while slowly spinning around each other. This performance would be very high energy, full of splits, death drops, leaps, and choreography. The ending would be flawless as we perform the Don't Turn Around chorus as Miss Seda performs the Alejandro chorus at the same time while simultaneously leaping into the splits over each other.
Chanel
+ The name. So natural, but still seems smart and well-chosen.
- I think y'all match each other a little too closely.
Carmen
+ Not Google Play Love the idea of her being a budget version of you (similar to mine )
- Personally, I wouldn't want to see a drag performance of HARD, but maybe I'm old-fashioned.
Carrie
+ The picture And the lip sync sounds the most entertaining IMO.
- Seems like more time was invested in Part 1 of your entry than Part 2.
Scarlett
+ Love the associations between the names that you point out. Rose's backstory is really fun, esp. the part about feeding her too much. I screamed.
- I like that you want to show how you each have your own style, but I wish there was a LITTLE connectivity in the makeover. You don't seem affiliated at all when one just looks at the makeover elements.
Koko
+ The fact that you got that alliteration in both names is so lucky!!! This was one of the better lip syncs.
- I don't know how to describe it, but I feel like there's a lack of flare, I think because so many of the similarities are superficial (colors, fonts, etc.) instead of relationships between the characters.

I'm such the Alyssa Edwards of this competition, the performance aspects of my entries slay like my lip sync but everything else can be seen as weak
