I DO admit to being spoiled as a music listener, and Madonna is a big part of that.

Say an artist has like two GREAT albums and then the second one flopped and they got dropped from a label and didn't release again until nine years later and independently Or if they had a strong start and then just faded commercially and critically by the third or fourth release, I don't even want to BOTHER with their great beginning because it's an investment that won't go all the way Obviously current, newer artists get a pass because I'm taking the journey with them. But if there's a back catalog and I KNOW how the artist's career has played out, and I know they didn't stay at least artistically vital and reasonably prolific, I just move on

I don't get how anyone can't see the sheer value of Madonna's catalog and stanning it.

La Isla Bonita is one of my earliest Madonna memories too. And Hung Up + Material Girl (also vaguely remember growing up hearing Beautiful Stranger, Music and seeing the VMAs Britney kiss quite a bit).

I remember fiercely sassing out La Isla / Material on karaoke machines w/ my family when I was really young (separate occasions) and asking who M was, thinking she was black for AGES.

Then I remember around the time Celebration was released they played Hung Up on TV and I imitated her moves from the video in my living room like the little gay *** I didn't know I was back then (I still do this from time to time tho).

My first concrete memory of Madonna is in late 1996 when I saw a commercial for Evita. I knew who she was, but this is the first instance I can recall where I actually acknowledged her. It just goes right into Don't Cry For Me Argentina and the song sounded like being alive, and she looked so beautiful and perfect and important and I remember being very taken aback by the sensation of watching that commercial.

I guess I had the 'Madonna Fan Gene' in my blood, so all that happened was that my body sensed a radio transmission from the mothership.

I'm pretty sure "Beautiful Stranger" is my first memory of Madonna. I think the video made more of an impression on me than the song itself though.

I never used Madonna 80's, except for LaP.
Just because I don't like the sound of that decade and the lyrics.
But, slowly, I was getting into her 80's stuff and I find I absolutely love everything.

Simple sound + lovely voice (her Minnie with Helium voice is cute)
Happy songs, especially between Madonna-Like a Virgin.

So, I can say I love those songs from her 80's stuff (in no particular order)

Mine is La Isla Bonita, because when I was Child, like 4-5 years old (in 1996 :3) my mom used to sang me that song while she combed me my hair before to go to the garden school.
Then I remember Madonna from 1998, with RoL because my mom loved that album so much. I remember to listen FROZEN so many times.
Then Music...

Personally, I became a fan of her with Hung Up, in my teens. I grew up like a happy gay because of this

But most of all, I'm a Madonna fan because of my mother. The memories of years and years of her songs like a playground during my childhood <3

And then early 1998, a cold Chicago winter night, sitting in the back of the car with my head tilted back as far as it could go so that I was looking out the back window upside down, while the DJ on B96 introduced "the new Madonna song" and those mournful, gorgeous strings kicked in

This might not be accurate but I'm pretty sure it would have been Like A Prayer. My cousin was a huge Prince stan and bought the album for it, I was like probably 3 or 4 when I listened to it.

Yeah I did the same. I remember I did the moves in a high school dance when the song came on.

American Life was my earliest era I can remember! I stanned hard for Britney at the time so when I saw VMA and MATM music video, I was slayed!!

I tried to get into the groove with 80s Madonna, but it didn't fit me until this year when I found my light and started to stan Madonna real hard again!
