I have a Cher magazine spread on my wall above my bed in my dorm.

I love Burlesque actually. I've seen it 3 or 4 times with different friends. I even have the soundtrack in physical form (it was a gift) and I took a pic just for you

I'm gonna start using this more. I'm doing a full discography listen starting tomorrow. Well it sort of started today with some of the Imperial Recordings album (this, combing the best stuff of Foxy Lady and Half Breed, and tacking my favorite Black Rose tracks onto the end of I Paralyze were the only real consolidations I made.)

I'm pretty pumped because this will be my first time listening to most of her pre-80s albums in full (other than Take Me Home and Stars). I'd love to talk about my faves with you Citrus.











Also maybe helping make this base somewhat active again will help me make up for ****ing up hosting the CTTT album survivor so badly

Yeah, when I stan for an artist, I like having pretty much their entire discography in full or at least represented fairly well.

The Imperial Recordings were a bit of a drag. I did like Elusive Butter, Blowing In The Wind, and It's Not Unusual (kind of a basic cover, but I love the original and I love Cher so it works for me).

I skimmed Black Rose and got Julie, Young and Pretty, 88 Degrees, and Never Should've Started because they stood out. Let me know if I missed any good ones and I'll check them out. I'm still a solid 10 albums away from them.

I'm on 3614 Jackson Highway rn. It is cute. Nothing amazing, but it is cool because you really feel like you are listening to music from the 60s in an almost stereotypical way.

Finished 3614 Jackson Highway. Most of the good stuff was towards the beginning and then Cry Like A Baby was pretty solid.

Then things start getting good with Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves. Obviously the title track and The Way of Love are flawless, but I also loved When You Find Out Where You're Going Let Me Know and Touch and Go (that hook is an earworm).

Also I hadn't even heard of Bittersweet White Light, but that album is kind of amazing. It is a little more adult contemporary than Cher usually is, but the production is so lush and the album is really cohesive. The Man That Got Away is so epic. If she doesn't want her next tour to be as over the top she could easily do a stripped back thing like this and maybe do a greatest hits kind of like Kylie Minogue did with The Abbey Road Sessions where she rerecords and does orchestral stuff with her biggest hits.

YES @ The Man That Got Away. I would love to see Cher do a private-ish theater gig with her stripped back stuff and release it as an HBO concert doc.

At the moment, I am obsessed with "He'll Never Know" from Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves. It's such a great power ballad. I'm kind of bummed that some of her albums have never been released on CD. I really want Stars on CD.
