Reviews for the three horror movies I watched today for the challenge.
The Cemetery (FTV): Directed by Adam Ahlbrandt, this was a very good movie and I'm so glad I finally saw it today after putting it off for nearly a year. Though you could tell how low the budget was compared to the other two movies on this list, that didn't bother me at all. The film has a slick 70's look and style. The kills were very graphic and the effects were well-done. I loved Natalie Jean's character Natalie too. Would give it an 8/10.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (FTV): This might have been one of the worst horror films I have seen in recent years. Even The Gallows was better than this. The acting was awful, even from Katie Holmes who is a pretty good actress when given good material. The CGI was putrid and laughable. Twenty minutes into this film I almost went to sleep but struggled to stay awake during the whole thing. 1/10. Literately NOTHING good about this.
Scream 3: My third favorite in the series. Though this film is bloodless, overly comedic, and different compared to the first two I do love it as a guilty pleasure and as a horror comedy. Neve Campbell and Parker Posey are fantastic in it and it has my favorite ending in the series. 7.5/10.
