Had to skim through most of this... it did not at all catch my attention. I'm super disappointed cuz I LIVED for Love and War and Let Me Know... this era has just been so blah ugh... IIDHY and Catfish are cute and so is Makin Love but the rest is just all so filler... what happened Tamar

ETA: Before people come at me for not liking it cuz it's more R&B oriented than pop, I'll have you know I love authentic R&B and I am aware that was the vibe Tamar was going for but the melodies and production is still so weak... Jazmine Sullivan's work is always mostly authentic R&B but still filled with delicious melodies.. I did not get anything like that out of this :/

R&B doesn't mean the material shouldn't be any less stellar.

I'll save my opinion on album until when I hear it in full though. But "Let Me Know" is the best I've heard so far. Which is funny, b/c I didn't think that was a strong single at first lol.

Just listened to the album.

I don't really like it. It's too slow for me and it feels like one very long r&b ballad. It's not a bad album and I get what she was going for, but none of the songs on it are as strong as the standouts of L&W.

ethann said it perfectly. Jazmine Sullivan is the example I had in mind too. Her album was pure r&b, but it had so many different textures, styles and tempos that it felt more interesting. Not much caught my attention on CAL, at least not on first listen

But i do agree, the album has too many slow R&B/Soul songs in the likes of If I Dont Have You, and im not such a huge fan of those.

But the rest of the songs are amazing.

I've listened to this album 2 times and halfway through listening to it for the third time today.

Just had it on repeat while at working and it's really good

I don't know what my favourites are but I know King is for sure in my top 3 no matter what.

Let Me Know should have been put on this album as personally it's much better than a lot of the songs on this.

had a chance to listen in full.. its a great album..its missing a couple of POW singles - which is why im baffled she allowed Let Me Know to be left off... Either way i get what Tamar wanted to do on the album and it shows ..

King is the one standalone highlight.. its absolutely beautiful and her vocals..

im not sure if its better than Love & War.. For its focus i say it is.. But then ive only listened once all the way through..
