We live in a pretty significant time, historically. The advent of mass media, the internet, true globalization and technological breakthroughs unlike any other point in history, the past 50 years are the turning point of our species. We often forget that recorded music has only been around for about 80 years, compared to other art forms like theatre, which have been around for thousands of years.

It's not a stretch to assume this time in human history will be heavily studied, probably forever, and the major figures from it will live on.
