I don't think that's necessarily the case. iforgiveyou said it would screw "everyone" over if you chose incorrectly, meaning both campers and slashers would be hurt by whatever was in one box. I think the prize had more to do with what happened as a result of your opening a specific person's box, not of killing the person themselves. In Luke's box just happened to be suicide for whoever opened it.
