What u see is what u get would have been a great closer.
Stronger WAS DESIGNED to be a single.
My loneliness ain't killin me no more wasn't a lyric for a reason.
Stronger was always going t o be a single.
THIS IS WHERE I COME IN...see I remember and there was a person name Britecletual that would layout the blueprint for the era and be 95% spot on.
BOMT was bubble gum teen phenomenon
OIDIA was to be a girl good with a wink and take it to the next level.
Oops was obviously supposed to be next level BOMT in terms of popularity with tongue and cheek
Lucky was DESIGNED to foreshadow what was expected of Britney after teen pop died down.
Stronger was the single where she became more sexy and "stronger" and it transitioned her to be more sexy and sultry
Don't let me be was a shania song so maybe that's why it was a single but I know for a fact back t then people wanted the following 4 as singles: What u see is what u get, One kiss from you, Don't go knocking on my door and when your eyes say it.
One kiss was promoted in a few outlets but Don't go and what u see were performed on tour.
What u see was the front runner and they even made up a rumor of a video taking her stripper pole performance on tour into a video with xzibit and snoop dogg which was a kii at the time.
In hindsight there would have NOTHING wrong with releasing the tour video of What u see is what u get but two things were involved:
1) TRL RAN The singles for pop stars back in that day. It was a matter of waiting until the song retired on that show to ready a new one
2) She and the GP needed a break so that more hype could be amped up for her return to the VMAs with a new single.
What u see being released would've not given us much of a break.

YOu also don't realized that BRITNEY and JIVE really never used radio payola.
We joke about it here but they seriously didn't spend money on radio payola for her because she could sell based on word of mouth and other promo.
You are seeing the stats of a pop star without radio payola.
When a song was undeniable like BOMT, Crazy, oops, toxic the radio stats showed.
When a song was good but not pushed with radio payola you got sometimes, lucky, stronger radio stats.
THey also did this because BRITNEY was EVERYWHERE it was a phenomenon and if she were to be overexposed on radio people would have grown tired of her way quicker.
It's like Rihanna in the late 00s early 10s where she was overexposed on radio due to high demand but wasn't in movies or in every ad to become overexposed as a whole.
Because she was one of the few that were able to sell based on word of mouth and tv interviews and videos it was less effort to push radio to overplay her stuff
Tha's the tea and back then they used to have this site called r&r online radio and records which showed the adds dates weekly and other tea about the top radio stations at the time
Which is why I know how not a girl was added to almost every station because they wanted to promote it in lieu of the movie but they couldn't play it as much due to the ban. Radio tried to bypass the slave ban by using that Not a girl was for a movie but it didn't work.
Also, when Like i love you underperformed as well as Dirrty (they were added to the most radio stations) but that's when they had rush released 2nd singles when 1st singles would underperform.
Yall got me started

Because she literally had no radio payola used in comparison to the others. TRL was her weekly promo and the AMAs which was enough to go gold
