I think bey should get a portion of DC's sales considering she contributed to their legacy, not all of it tho coz she wasn't a solo artist like 1/3 coz she says she always split all the money and everything 3 ways in her interviews. there are reasons why MJ and Jackson 5, Timberlake and Nsync, Gwen and No doubt are viewed as separate entities...sure if stans are so gun ho about taking 1/5 of Jackson 5 sales, 1/5 of nsync or 1/4 of No doubt but they are two acts in the music biz as is the case for measurements RIAA and Billboard. A stanbase won't trump those two credible entities.
Beyonce deserves credit just like the other two...or four I just think that each time a thread is made to rank top 20...the first thing a Beyonce stan does is add up both so that their fave ranks higher...it's accidental shade to their fave.

To say Beyonce is slaying based on her solo stats is great. To say DC3 slayed based on their group stats is great much like the other examples i gave with other artists.
however, i rarely if at all see Gwen, timberlake or michael stans pull that stunt. They did it in Ady's thread and a Rihanna stan clocked them swiftly

True. I think like when Beyonce stans tweeted something about a plaque claiming 118M sales using 5 album cover pictures or the pepsi "fact" sheet or when Rihanna's team went from saying 20 something million albums WW to 40M in the matter of two years stans use twitter as sources now.

I remember seeing the plaque that Young money fooled the barbz with to claim 3.8M Ww.
Also with the soundscan's I wonder how on earth did Nicki's PF go from 1.913m when i was a stan tracking her receipts to 2.1M when she couldn't even sell 200k of her re-release after pushing her 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th songs from the PFRR only to get to 900k+

It wasn't until you decimated K.E.N. with that billboard article correcting that inaccurate 2.1M figure when I realized that people will really take the highest number and slab it onto a receipts thread.

I somewhat can respect Anticipating for using 25M and 22M WW for Britney's first two despite multiple entities using 30M and 24M...even though I like the higher number I respect that he goes with the ones that are easily supported.

For the longest time I though they were the top female group while I was a stan and deluded until the stats showed Spice girls and even TLC being higher in rank. I just think it's a disrespect and discredit when people use group and solo sales as if they don't know in the music biz those are two separate entities for more than a handful of reasons. It's almost like saying 1) your fave did good but not great so we are going to amplify or 2) your fave did great but we are greedy and want to amplify.

I wouldn't like it if MJ, Justin timberlake, Gwen stefani, Fergie, Will i am, Nicole scherzinger did that either.

I would have been appalled if Michael Jacksons Number ones compilation included the Jackson 5 songs that went to #1 because it's like he would try to take over as if the others didn't exist and don't matter and that he was always a solo artist in his entire career and that's not true.

Bottom line: you don't have a real argument which is why you continue to deflect.
You LOST when a) you made an excuse for inflation by marginalizing it b) you then questioned a well established music business ruling because you are not satisfied with your faves stats and want to jazz it up a bit and that's fine.

I'm not deflecting anything. And for God's sake, what the hell am I inflating? There might be inflated figures here and there but overall, it's not inflated. It's actually deflated. I mean, "Halo" has definitely sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

I AM. to be fair he's better than many musicians turned actors but he just doesn't have it to be great and he had the solid image that wasn't getting in his way of being taken seriously and he still didn't do a great job.

At least he tried. now he just needs to retire from music and raise his baby and his wife and enjoy his millions.

I think some MJ stans became overzealous and trying to play games as well.
Before that I think they were legit and accurate.

I don't like how some MJ stans tried to claim MJ sold 1B and they look as ridiculous as any other thread that combines two business entities per the music business industry.
