The gap should be far bigger though, seeing as Gaga has been over since 2011? They've basically sold the same, it's just that Katy's singles push her over the edge because A. She's released more of them and B. She's had 2 bigger hits more recently.
According to Billboard Gaga has sold more so this might not even be true in the first place. I'll let yall have your fun though, dragging Gaga is what gets some of you through the day.
