Slave is not a good song but didn't it have a radio ban? Or was that later?
It is a good song and yes from 2001-2003 she had a radio ban because normally back then tours would go through clear channel and Britneyeither chose concertwest/aeg or pepsi and radio blacklisted her from high daytime rotation and day parted her for evening rotation which had less audience.
But unlike many artists she didn't need radio. She had promo, videos and word of mouth that kept her selling 100k per week during the end of OIDIA and going almost 5x platinum during the Britney era.
Me thinks she'd have a 7x platinum album with strong radio support

It's like... techno & motherly.
Britney's best videos:
Oops, Crazy, Slave, Overprotected (dark child remix), Do Somethin', BOMT & Stronger Ugh, her skanky, gym-outfitted looks with messy blonde pigtails in cheesy video sets is so iconic.

I mean...
You're comparing Katy, who's entire career & peak was/is during the digital era, to Britney who was under a radio ban from IAS4U to MATM & had limited physical releases for her singles sans BOMT.
I mean....
Toxic & Oops charting in the top ten basically on airplay alone. Katy could never.
"Make Them Gold" is cute Something very "Heartbeat Sound" about this album though (the kelly song)

I mean...
So smart of you to compare an artist that did not rely on radio to outsell your fave and the one you are comparing her with and then compare her with someone with radio, digital sales and streaming after the digital era arrived.
A platinum in 1999 vs platinum in 2015 tea.
Not Jessica simpsons debut album oustelling BEYONCE.
I mean it makes sense to compare both 2x platinum albums right.
I'm shocked every time I hear Slave and Dirrty were such huge flops in America. was like 9 when they came out and I thought they were huge at the time. The videos were always playing on TRL.
You're comparing Katy, who's entire career & peak was/is during the digital era, to Britney who was under a radio ban from IAS4U to Toxic & had limited physical releases for her singles sans BOMT.

oh ok. Lets compare to Beyonce then since apparently Katy is like, out of Britney's league.
