Discussion: Do you believe in "God"?

Are we supposed to believe that there is someone watching us all the time, wherever we are?
Are we supposed to believe that this someone created the world in exactly 7 days with its/his/her magic stick?
Just because of a book that has been written by some men which they could easily manipulate?
If God loves everyone, why do "bad" people go to hell?
From what I've read, there were many gods. What if Jesus, for example, is just for our generation? What if every person in the world dies but then another civilization is created on earth, how would they know about Jesus? They will have their own beliefs. Nothing has a scientific explanation. Religion is the cause of so much conflict around the world.
I don't go to church, I don't think it's necessary. I don't pray. There is a quote from the movie Stigmata that I never forget, it goes "The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in buildings of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I'm there, lift a stone and you will find me."

It's kind of offending the so many people criticize the Catholic Church. I may not agree with 100% of what they say I am a Catholic

When you recieve salvation, it's not wether it offends, whether you fell like it. NO!
You must believe that Jesus died for your sins and live your live for Him.
You live for God, not the way YOU want to live. Sorry, but it's not wether i want to pay tax, but i have to.

So.. If God created everything.. who created God? He was there since the very beginning? There are so many questions and no specific answers.

WRONG. Please if you take something from this post, please don't listeen to what preists say, only listen to people of God, who preach from God and the Bible.
Priests make Christianity and Salvation easy by eating a piece of bread and coming to church every Sunday. They are what the Bible calls "False Prophets". BEWARE!
Jesus can only save someone who is willing, from their sins.

I do Believe in GOD so much and I think he's the creator of universe!!

PD: I get the feeling that this thread was created by a very trivial reason but i better not get offensive

God is all-knowing, all-doing and omni-present, meaning he is everywhere at once, God can do anything. Don't forget we are human, yes we like to know the future and get ahead of our time, but God is the one who has the final say.
The Bible was written by men, givin to them by God. They were men of God, who dedicated their lives to him, in service and FULL reverence. A BIG difference then just writing it down.
To conclude, the Bible has never been proven wrong. Human creations come and go. The Bible is timeless and will never dissapear, just like our creator.

Two topics never to talk about, politics and religion. Being that many people here have similar political views, the only dangerous topic is religion. I'm not answering the question because I don't care what people think about my beliefs. They are my beliefs and you will not change them. All this is doing is creating unnecessary conflict.

I do believe strongly in Jesus. Many Catholics are some of the most religious you'll find anywhere in the world. Many of them also have some of the greatest connections to God. There is nothing wrong with being Catholic. I share many of the same beliefs as many other Christians.

ahhh good question.
Look out your window. Do you see trees? birds? flowers?
Now that could not have come by chance. A big bang, from which energy was created out of nothing? No.
If people don't know about the bible look around them, see the wars, calamities, disasters, poverty, destruction nobody can testiment that they haven't thought about a creator of some sought.
God is central to our exsistance, so it's no surprise that people are curious, if they have heard or haven't heard.

There is something wrong with most Catholics.
1.) Good works will NOT get you into Heaven.
2.) Mary is nobody of significance other than the fact the she was Jesus' earthly mother.
3.) Priests can NOT save you.& you don't have to go to them for prayer.

It's not wether your strongly religious....that doesn't mean much to God. You can obey all the laws and rules, but not have your heart in it.
"Man looks at the outside apperance, but The Lord looks at the heart".
If you have your heart in it and have FAITH...then it means more than The Pope's faith. No pun or shade intended but im being serious.
If somone looks religeous, doesn't mean they actually are.

You are acting as if you spoke to God over the phone and discussed this with him.

God was there before human exsistance. period.
You can't defer it in any way. We only have 6 senses and a conscience. No computer is smarter than it's creator.

Personally I'm catholic but I learned a lot about the jewish religion from a couple friends of mine and we are not as different as one might think. Many religions have slight variations on the same thing. Same goes with Muslims. Why can't we all get along?
