I don't think Rihanna lacks passion for her music at all, I think she lacks passion for performing and tbh I've ALWAYS thought that was the case. She's put on some good performances and even some great ones but she never makes an effort to go above and beyond especially on tour. It's probably the reason her tours never exceed 100 dates. Same thing with Mariah, she's never liked touring. That being said, there are some songs that Rih seems to always connect with when she performs like Diamonds, Stay, LTWYL and WFL...the other ones, she's hit or miss tbh
I don't understand why some of you think she no longer wants to be a singer or she doesn't want to release an album, I think that's the furthest thing from the truth. In fact, I think the reason why she's taking so long to release R8 is because she DESPERATELY wants to get it right and she may even be afraid of people not responding well to the material. The girl KNOWS how to make hits and she's said that repeatedly but she really wants to challenge herself this time around and I think she may be overthinking things a little tbh
