The National could afford to lose a few songs and some Beach House songs were out too early, but besides that this is a pretty decent top 25. I hope to see a good amount of LCD in top 10.
Now that I think of it, didn't the Weeknd also sample Beach House on House Of Balloons or Tuesday if I remember correctly?
I seem to remember that being a major selling point for Pitchfork when those mixtapes dropped. I remember reading that somewhere when I was in my "I only listen to serious and acclaimed music" phase
"Silver Soul" is the second song on Teen Dream, the gloomy track finds Victoria repeatedly chanting "It is happening again" What is happening again? They made another outstanding track? Apparently the song was inspired by Twin Peaks or something. Notably, Kendrick Lamar sampled the track on his own song "Money Tress" from his 2012 album: good kid, m,A.A.d city.
It was also named as Beach House's best song by Stereogum, which is a lie, but I digress.
Best bit: The way it segues into Norway Best lyrics: "Stand beside it, we can't hide the way it makes us glow"
