21 is obviously bigger than 1989.. Taylor only has touring and media power over Adele in this era but it's nt fair to compare 21 to anything because it was just insane.
If Adele toured to the extent / level Taylor did, she would put her numbers to shame. Adele could sell out MSG in 3 seconds flat if she wanted to.
And as for media, doesn't seem like they've been much on Tay's side the past few weeks.
I've just seen this thrown around, but aside from Taylor's tour (Adele couldn't tour properly because of her vocal issues) and media presence (I would say that Adele was heavily buzzed about in the media), 1989 is hardly a groundbreaking era that is comparable to Adele's 21 era. Has 1989 even crossed 10 million WW yet after nearly a year of purchase? In comparison, 21 did that in much less time. Yeah, sales are different now, but people used that same argument in 2011 and 2012, so it's a valid point. Still 8 million in counting for a 2014 album is not bigger than an album released three or so years before that sold nearly 30 million even if you take inflation/deflation into consideration. Like get real.
I don't know who is saying this but is obviously trolling. Adele's 21 is obviously bigger than any Taylor era.. abum sales have indeed decreased a lot from 2011 but still if you adjust the numbers it doesn't come close.
As far as for touring we can only speculate, Taylor's touring power is HUGE this era.. I mean 152m from 50 dates is insane.
It's a shame Drake and Future aren't on Interscope, if they were they could withhold shipments of their album to get Lana the number one like they did with Eminem to get ARTPOP the number one
