Right? I'm sick of the interest in risk taking for the sake of risk taking.
And it's always risk taking in ways that largely don't matter or produce results that gets the most attention. For example, since Fearless, Taylor has expanded her sound and experimented with different sounds (Haunted features an orchestra, State of Grace is her version of a sprawling arena rock anthem, Treacherous has a very unique song structure, 1989 features a honed pop sound) -
that's the kind of risk taking I care about. But since it wasn't accompanied by some dramatic image change, it's irrelevant, these girls won't care even though it's very meaningful. I really don't care if your form of risk taking is nothing more than taking your clothes off in music videos or wearing outlandish outfits.
Gaga makes the same dated top 40 generic music over and over again, and that's why people aren't feeling it anymore because its dated.
