With all the talk about her wanting a Grammy nomination so bad, I expected her to really deliver this era. But nope, nothing. She still hasn't found her sound or her lane unlike Selena, Miley, Lorde, Meghan etc.

Her image is terrible, there's literally NOTHING likable or interesting about her. That, coupled with her personality, is obviously going to put people off of her.

Her music being bad doesn't help her case either. She needs a major reinvention to be taken seriously, imo.

I love CFTS but there is nothing unique about Demi. She needs to find her BOMT/CIL/Poker Face/etc. song and create some signature aspect to her career, be it her tone, her image or her marketing.

Also, she needs to step up the music videos. If CFTS was a better video and had aspects of lesbianism in it, the song would've been a bigger hit, imo.

I think all the main points have been hit, GP just isnt here for her. But honestly, she's not flopping or anything, it just looks that way because Selena is being used as the standard.

CFTS only generated press for Katy: Did she copied IKAG? Did she became a Katy Perry impersonator?

Good for showing that Katy influences the next generation, but when will Demi get her own attention instead of making IKAG more remembered than the debut singles of the other pop girls of the 2008-2013 generation.

I doubt the gp is aware of her telling us her story, so I doubt is that the problem, I think it's because she is trying to push a personality that is not hers, it's a shame that she is not smashing because she is way more talented that some pop girls, she has everything, but there is something missing being 11 on hot 100 is not bad but is not great and I doubt it will chart higher and I think Confident sounds dated I mean like something from 2007, is a bad single choice, the promo has been good and mainly because HR is not doing it.

she's bland as a celebrity, and when she does make headlines it's mostly negative and people get the impression that she is unlikeable
she's bland as a performer...she just stands there and sings with very little else going on, even in her most upbeat songs...the VMA performance was the biggest performance i've ever seen from her so hopefully she's improving in that aspect
her music is generic and most of it could be sung by any other pop girl. she doesn't have a distinct Demi Lovato sound. however CFTS & Confident are better than anything she's released since Unbroken so i have high hopes for this album

Because the summer is just about over and thus so is her coolness unfortunately.

I really don't know though seriously. Cool For the Summer is a fantastic song and her imagery is near flawless this era. It just doesn't add up honestly.
