You've been on ATRL long enough to know that the range of time in which a report is handled is circumstantial. Sometimes flamebait threads are closed instantly, with zero posts. Sometimes flamebait threads are closed within the hour. Sometimes flamebait threads are not closed for hours, in rare cases, even left open all night (because mods have lives). It all depends. Plus, logically, it doesn't make sense that a moderator would purposefully leave a flamebait thread open, seeing as that would mean they would have to go through more obnoxious reports from members as a result of the thread being open longer.

Aren't mods assigned specific times periods to moderate the forum? Isn't that why they request to know your time zone if you're applying for a mod position? Even if mod have lives, if they aren't available to moderate the site because they're busy, should they really be a mod then? I don't think there should ever be a time when a mod isn't available on the site and flamebait threads are left open for an hour.

There's only a handful of moderators to begin with. Even if one or two mod are online at all times,
there's only so many reports that he or she can handle. They're not robots, Mani.

Thus, the time range in which reports are handled will always be circumstantial.

I don't use ATRL on mobile much, but the member iHype did post a web browser for mobile in the previous HQ thread that eliminates those popup issues for ATRL. And you only have to use that web browser for ATRL, and then go back to using your normal web browser for internet on your phone. I forgot the name of the browser, but you should just ask him on his wall here.

the posts I've reported from that member have all been justified, he just doesn't follow the rules and is constantly disruptive/spamming. how is that my fault?

I hope that isn't reversed because plenty of people have been reported for posts like that in their respective bases and have been warned

This is highly impractical, though. We don't have assigned times, and that's because all moderation is volunteer work and dependent upon our own dynamic and changing lives. It wouldn't work out. While it's true that moderators are already placed on probation or suspended if they're never around, we counteract that simply by having 14 moderators - and they're all full, global moderators as it's called on some other forums, so each of us has the capacity to deal with almost any situation in any section.

Time periods for report handling will always be highly variable.
