Because they tend to be the most vocal. Much like how most atheists are perfectly willing to co-exist peacefully with religion, but you get some who are determined to scream about how stupid religious people are at the top of their lungs. I get and agree with what you're saying, but I think I understand what the other person is too. I mean, imagine if your only experiences with Christians was them being hateful and intolerant? Even though the religion actively preaches against that, I could see someone feeling confused and wondering if that's the expected behavior or something.

Plus, from personal experience, if you go to a Church that's preaching the opposite of what you actually believe, it DOES create a rift. You're actually better off not going to that Church at all

You'd think even without religion, people would love thy neighbors and be nicer to each other. Hippies were kind of close to this without being religious (they were spiritual), but life is so much easier when you let go and let God.

That's how I feel and see things too. You'll get people like that of all religions (or non-religions, in the case of atheists) I just try to avoid them

I don't reject it, but I'm not like 100% sold either. From what I've heard it makes sense enough, but it's not something I'm fully committed to either (partially since, while I'm okay with science, I'm far from a scientist and don't really know enough about science to commit to a specific theory) I've really always felt like the important part about creation is that, however it happened, God is the one responsible for it and that he gave us souls. How he got there is almost.. I'm not gonna say it doesn't matter, but, in my opinion, I don't feel like it matters nearly as much as the part I just said.

So.. I guess I'm neutral towards evolution, with a slight lean towards believing it since it's the most valid theory I've heard so far?

I actually need to find a new Church to go to. I hadn't gone for awhile (my family and I are a tragic MESS when it comes to getting to Church and we 100% know it We wanna fix that, it's one of the things I'm really hoping to get done this year), and my family decided to finally try to come back a few weeks ago and the sermons we were getting were just... they weren't hatefilled, necessarily, but we all left feeling a lot more troubled and bothered by some of the comments made than at peace and refreshed. So we're kinda still looking for another one to go too.

It doesn't help that I'm about to head off to college in like two weeks. Though there's one across the street from my dorm that I plan to go to and see how it is

Yes, atheist are tough. I try to avoid them as well.
