i will post my MC collection tomorrow (night). IDK if i win the contest or if its still on, but i want to show y'all my GLITTER flag.. which is GIGANTIC. and lets be real.. somebody who owns a glitter flag wins over HEARTS and ADORATION by default, right?

2001 was my first MC peak year when my stanism peaked and for a moment I became her - literally. It was during a class-trip when the whole breakdown thing happened, and I was completely useless and down, worrying my pants wet.

my stanism cooled a little bit afterwards.. dont get me wrong, i would still pray to her every night.

It re-peaked again in 2014 with MIAM being so cathartic.

But during the glitter era... it was extreme. I remember that Virgin had such a great website back then for the album, where you could listen to 1m versions of the songs. I listened to Reflections a billion times. And even 9/11 went pass me bc the only place you could find me was in my room with headphones on, breathing her music.

I was a complete mess on 9/10 when the album came out here in GER... i couldn't concentrate. I couldn't sleep the night before. And when i went to the shop after school, I was shaking. And then the booklet.. omfg.. so amazing..

How big was she during her peaks? Was she as big as Michael or Madonna? There is a video of her in paris during daydream and I haven't seen a crowd this wild

many ppl believe the myth of Mariah never being big in Europe.. however.. ppl were following her car, running after her screaming, blocking the hotels she was staying in.

Mariah mania lasted from 1994-1999.

Music Box remains one of the biggest albums ever in Europe, selling close to 8m units across the continent. Without You wasn't just BIG.. it was HUGE ² .

In 1994/1995 she was the biggest musician in the world without competition. Also in Europe, gurl has sold 12 million albums in that timeframe.

Good sis Daydream should be 4xp, Music Box should be 8xp and Merry Christmas is creeping closer and closer to 2xp, #1's should be 3xp. I wouldn't say she reached MJ level (Michael was at one point the most known ever human being on earth even before the Prophet and Jesus).. but Mariah was out of this world popular. Had she continued her Music Box sound, she would have sold much much more in Europe (but less in the US).
