I can totally hear Rihanna singing 'Same Old Love' her version would've been 100X better. However I'm glad she passed it on, but she should've kept 'Come and Get It' that would've fitted in on Talk That Talk.. or did she record that for Unapologetic? actually did she even record it all
Also this would've totally smashed if Rihanna recorded it in 2010/2011.
Anyway I don't want pop this time round, or urban/rap. I want an album full of songs like FourFiveSeconds/Higher/Kiss It Better/James Joint.
But I doubt any of those songs will be on the album.

Yes lol BBHMM is the best song released this year. But SOL slays too, I miss pophanna just a bit. (I don't want a pop album, just a few songs) Am I the only one?
If Rihanna worked with mostly underground producers to give us a totally NEW sound then the wait for R8 would be totally worth it if she finally taps into her TRUE potential as an artist.
That would also require her to actually perform like she gives a damn with these "timeless songs". It saddens me she's not the same girl on stage that she once was during 2005-2009.
Since 2009 she's had good moments but I see a lack of focus, she's improved in some ways but her energy and charisma was better before. The GGGB tour was probably her peak of performing her voice was nasal but she belted for her life. She moved around the stage, I saw a fire in her eyes. I don't see much of that anymore.
