Why did you cut off the rest of my post that was hugely relevant to the statement?
Super Bass is pretty much as pop as it gets... it just happens to be by a rapper and have poppy rap verses. It's not a "rap classic", but it's going to be a classic by a rapper nonetheless.
Yes... they chose him as the face, but the bottomline is they wouldn't include him in "hip-hop classic lines" and put him in the commercials with Nas & Biggie if they didn't believe he also didn't have his hip-hop classic.

Unsupported airplay (as in airplay gives him no recurrent sales for Adorn, no recurrent streams, and his career bombed right after) /=/ classic.
You were also wrong about B.O.B. and Kendrick not being fads!

Super Bass is such an awful, awful song. Like something about the chorus is just WRONG and it rubs me so far the wrong way it sends chills down my spine. It's like it WAS a good song but someone just took the production of the chorus and made it horrid. Maybe it's one of those songs that isn't in the right key, like Out Of The Woods. Also I feel like the instrumental has no coherence to the vocals
