They are professional who want to win. Both hate to lose. Its disrespectful if people suggest Venus tanks because

1) She knows it's her last chance to snatch a USO with Vinci in the SF and Vika maybe in the F
2) it assumes Serena isn't good enough to beat Venus on her own accord
3) it is disrespectful to fans who want a real match and not a fixed one
4) Doing so can get both into trouble because match fixing is a banable offense
5) Even if Venus "tanks" there's no guarantee Serena wins


It's disgusting and I just hope people are joking when they say this because I don't respect people who think it's true. Especially with absolutely no evidence

Now I can see people making an argument of Venus and Serena not having the same intensity playing each other, that's different. But to go as far as say one is fixing the match for the other is going too far

Well to be honest Venus felt bad for Serena during the Serena Slam run, up until AO2003. But when she really care, AO 2003 and Wimbledno 2003, she was too injured to play, and even then extended it to three sets.

I don't think Venus has ever purposefully floped vs. Serena, but people are naive is they think she'll be going all out in this particular match-up. If it was the final, maybe. But let's face it, Venus could still flop if she wins today, while Serena is virtually a lock after this match. Serena is better than Venus and shouldn't even need a handout from her to win, but I do think if Venus ever finds herself in a position where she's winning, the gravity of what she's possibly denying Serena will play on her mind.
