Surely only 2-3 of the above 6 tracks should make the final cut. I mean half of the album filled with The-Dream would be too much. Reviews on Standing O, Impossible and Obsessed have not been so enthusiastic so far.

WOW, that seems like the most honest review yet. Damn not to make it a rivalry but Whitney's preview went over ALOT better, in fact there wasn't any negative reviews. Mariah needs to really check herself before she puts out this new album. She can't rush out albums like she did in the 90's... she needs to take her time and craft a classic like Emancipation instead of these tired flops like Charmbracelet and E=MC2. I'm gettin all kinds of bad vibes from this era. Your name can only carry you for so long if you don't bring the heat with it.

There can always be changes, as there is no confirmed official tracklist for Memoirs yet (and I believe the album is still in the making). The early album listening is like a survey to see if the audience respond enthusiastically to the direction the album's headed in ...

^ Actually they do. Go to Classic Whitney forum.....the proof is all there. They believe she is going to have TEOM comeback and claim Mariah can't sing....as if Whitney can do better @ this point. And Mariah's rushing this album...so the reviews are to expected. What are we as fans supposed to do about that?

Err, Playboy... I think your expectations are a tad high. Sure there's more buzz around Whitney right now, but regardless of her single peak Mariah is a surefire hit--Whit is the one who has to make a commercial comeback. You're right that they aren't rivals, but not for the reasons you think.

Nobody is buying Whitney's album but old people and her fans, which are mostly old people. Mariah has a MAINSTREAM hit single and MAINSTREAM press and public buzz. They aren't comparable.

I love how you take my words and twist them. I know all of that already--although I am expecting Whitney to match Mariah's first-week sales because the fanbase that she appeals to is broader.

Not to mention she is making a COMEBACK after a long hiatus, Mariah is coming off a moderate flop era and will probably flop moderately again. So yes there is more buzz.

But now that I am quoting you, NO Whitney DOES NOT have more buzz than Mariah, I don't care if she sells 2,000,000 first week sales, she doesn't have Mariah's buzz either way... even if Mariah is coming off a moderate flop, what is Whitney coming off of? An album that was released YEARS ago, the general Mainstream audience is not checking for Whitney like they are checking for Mariah, that's what I mean.

I really get what you're trying to say but it doesn't make any sense. a "COMEBACK" doesn't generate the buzz, it's the artist that is "coming back", regardless of how long they took to comeback.

Which is why Mariah is way more popular than Whitney right now, even coming off a 2007 under performing album.
