I think you misunderstood what I was saying. We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball weren't a risk musically at all.
Now I never said Miley wasn't a risky artist since like you pointed out, her videos for said songs were really controversial and her image as an artist has been polarizing for the past two years or so.

any artist pull of Bangerz? Yes, they could.
Could
any artist pull of Miley's image during that era?
Not so sure.
