It's so underrated simply because it's about Kanye but in reality it is one of her most interesting songs. It's lyrically strong and the dark production works. And that's a fact.

IKR? And I love the fact that the lines "who you are is not where you've been, you're still an innocent" have basically the same message that she gives on her Clean speech
I admit i hated Innocent when i thought it was about Kanye but then when i realized it was only that one line all my prejudice vanished.
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind tryin' to get it back
Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything
And everybody believed in you?
The only scenes I see it in are the scenes where she is behind the director's camera which is probably on purpose because that was how a lot of actors and actresses acted/moved in the 1950's.

!
although i do think she over acted in the premiere scenes
she should have been more subtle about her sadness
True. It was kinda obvious. Like... everyone would have known.
it was too melodramatic
i actually disliked the video the first time i watched it and iddn't realise the sex scene/ plane ride/ rain scene wasnt part of the movie. i was like "bitch, why are you being so emotional and needy of someone who doesn't even know you? this is gonna be bad for her image "
a fake smile creased just enough to make it seem she was on the verge of crying would have been so much more powerful
