Alanis went from 33M to 7M. Norah went from 22M to 13M.

Alanis and Norah are still huge successes. They may have lost their peak, sure, but with an album that huge, they are always going to be somewhat remembered and relevant (another reason why I would never call Britney Spears or Lady GaGa totally irrelevant, even if they struggle now). Adele is a special case because she was not only an album seller - her singles are some of the biggest of the past ten/fifteen years. She truly is in a category of her own.

I love her performance of it at the YouTube Awards. It's so emotional. I almost kinda hope that she goes completely into that direction just so some of her fanbase can pleaaaase ****ing stop begging for dance pop.
