its called variety in characters and filling some archetypes so people with different taste to have something they like.... not every pkmn has to serve badass and be the same, what will be the point of it?

Some Pokemon are just cute, someare there for comedic relief, some are there to save the day etc.

Not every Pokemon has to be badass but they at least have to be interesting.

Take Meowth. He got his ass kicked all the time but he was hilarious, and one of the most memorable characters.

The fact that Togepi even got them out of terrible situations with Metrenome just proved w/o ha they would've been dead. Wasn't Togepi the one who kept teleporting their asses and saving the day?
